Abiding — What it means to abide…

Jesus said in John 15:

“Aide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I AM the Vine, ye are the branches: he that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
If a man abide not in Me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  If ye abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you,”   John 15:4-7.

Any person…  and He means anybody who wants to do anything for God must: Abide in Him!

Jesus said: “If” you abide, then you could ask what ye will and it would be done!

What some do not realize about this is: abiding is [in common language easy to understand… Is…. like… hanging around Jesus, walking so close to Jesus you understand Him, listening to everything Jesus says, to know what He is thinking and feeling, taking note of everything Jesus does, and joining in with Jesus into Jesus’ sufferings when He hurts or feels pain, rejection, sadness, etc.

Abiding is absolutely necessary …  because if you do not know by close relationship all Jesus is and is doing, feeling, and planning… then you will not know how to pray in The Will of God!

A person who is so close to Jesus in personal relationship that Jesus will share with him what He is doing………. Will then walk with Jesus, and, Jesus will be walking with him!

Abiding is the key to unlock everything.  For if you are abiding with Him, and He is abiding with you……….

You will know exactly what to do, or pray for, etc.

Many want to have this privilege without abiding!  They really only just talk to Jesus when they want something, or, have a need.  That sort of thing is not abiding.

Abiding is like this parable or story:

A certain man who was the owner of a large plantation hired many workers.  The workers would go into the field to work and many of them [only did just what they were told to do] they were so relieved at the end of the work day to be done that they just quit working and walked away [to do their own thing].

But, there was one worker who at the end of the work day did not wish to leave the owners side.  He hung around close to him and continued to walk with the owner, and he talked to him, and he listened to him.

This one who stayed became the owners friend.

One day the owner began to share with the ‘Worker or servant’ what he would do tomorrow.

Then the ‘Worker’ was not like the other …workers, who did not know.  But he knew what the owner was going to do [the next day], before he did it.

The owner and the worker were so close that the worker was… special to the owner.  He was more then a worker…  But… he was a special loving friend!

The moral to this parable is: if you want to be successful in all you do for God…. be so close to The LORD you will know exactly what god is doing… and why!

Then……….. agree with Him!

Just do God’s Will then…. for you will know it.

An added verse to consider:

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him,”   1 John 5:14-15.

If one knows God’s Will, he knows how to pray, and if one knows how …….. He has confidence that God will do it!
