Some thoughts about the present time in which we find ourselves.

One could wonder at times about the present unity of those who call themselves followers of Christ.

Many split hairs over tidbits of divinity, and yet forsake some of the more important matters that should concern us.

Are we blind to the great division that has spread between our brothers and sisters, or are we content to spew out our arguments and defame those who haven’t jumped upon our own band wagons?

You want a land that will be called great again and yet the only greatness so far is bloodshed, falsehood, and deceit.

With one hand you hold up your Bible and with the other one, thousands are thrown into cages and separated from their families.

We must keep out the infidels and yet those within our walls are the very ones we must fear the most.

Are some so unlike those who Jesus spoke to, for you clean the outside of the cup, but inward you are full of extortion and excess?

The leaven has come and its cancerous disease has spread to the entire body.  You may think that you are as white as snow but I tell you that your appearance is more hideous than the darkest night.

And yet who is the great debater of this age?

Who is the one that holds the truth within himself to speak to the masses of this present era?

And would you even accept it unless it lined up with your own opinions and justifications?

I tell you that we are being led down a road by a Pied Piper whose podium spreads this disease each and every day, and yet many swallow the morsels of hate and division, because it appeals to the worst part of us.

But now the actors on the stage have long since dressed for the occasion.  Their former selves have now become transfixed, and their identities are no longer what they were before.

But there are still some who have not dressed in the costumes with those upon the stage.  These are those who have chosen rather to be like the five wise virgins whose lamps are full.

Some did have the oil before, but it was squandered and sold to make room for the folly and deceit.

Some think that they have eyes to see but their vision is only upon he alone that can solve these problems.

We have somehow stepped into an Orwellian story, and now we are the animals in the farm.  History should teach us these things because it is very soon to repeat itself.

Each and every day the airwaves continue and the news cycle shows us more and more of that which is spreading.  But who can discern truth from falsehood as each tidbit and story is spread?

We live in a land where bloodshed and violence has now become common place.  One may wonder where safety can be found when these things have infiltrated so many places.

We are told to seek those things that are above rather than those that are upon this earth, for truly this is the only place that we will find peace and hope in a world that has gone astray.

And yet we live in a world but we are not of this world.  Hope that is seen is not hope, nor is faith that which is seen, otherwise it would not be faith.

We have an eternal King who one day will come.  We will still have wars and rumors of wars until He returns, and yet every day it seems that we are speedily rushing towards that day.

And we can and should think about those things that are honest and true, and just and pure, for then our hope is transfixed upon them.  And yet we must not have our eyes closed to those things that are around us, for it would be unwise to not be aware of them.

May we rather go to our prayer chambers and there alone will you find truth and peace for the days that are coming.  Then perhaps we may become like the Sons of Issachar who understood the times in which they were living.
