Beware The Idol Shepherds!
“Then the LORD said to me, “Take once more the equipment of a foolish shepherd. For behold, I AM raising up in the land a shepherd who does not care for those being destroyed, or seek the young or heal the maimed or nourish the healthy, but devours the flesh of the fat ones, tearing off even their hoofs.
“Woe to my worthless shepherd, who deserts the flock!
May the sword strike his arm and his right eye!
Let his arm be wholly withered, his right eye utterly blinded!” Zechariah 11:15-17.
Last night, the LORD said three words to me: Beware the ‘Idol Shepherd’.
Many Christians so afraid of wolves, that they will accept the protection of an idol shepherd without understanding that the wolves and the idol shepherd serve the same master – the devil.
Below are three bullet points that describe the idol shepherd. These can also serve as points that will help you pray against or identify the idol shepherd.
- Feeds himself/herself at the expense of the flock.
- Devouring the flock.
- Unifies with a system of idolatry because the false shepherd is an idol.
The idol shepherd is extremely selfish, self-centered and narcissistic. Shepherds provide for the sheep, not consume the provisions for the sheep out of gluttony or superiority.
Beware of leaders who are only concerned about themselves and manipulate people to stay “on top”.
While I was typing this prophetic word, the LORD showed me a picture of a pastor publicly embarrassing a person. I believe God was showing me an image that represented an idol shepherd “devouring the flock” because this idol shepherd is was not operating out of a sincere spirit.
Despite the tactics of this idol shepherd, the LORD’s wrath will be against him/her. Do not be discouraged, stand still for you will see the judgement of the LORD will come upon these idol shepherds.

After reading your article, I was shocked that God would reveal this to someone halfway across the globe. I too was shouted and humiliated in church by the pastor. All because I was going to bless the visiting pastor. Now I understand.
