Many people wonder why prophecies seems not to happen and many others are resorting to that old theological argument that, prophecies have ceased… but how true is it?

Well, I STILL prophesy and I still see them happening…  I say this with DEEP HUMILITY in my heart and to the GLORY OF GOD that, He has never let my words fall to the ground without a manifestation!

First and foremost, you must know that, prophecies are the WILL of God revealed and prophecy is more than laughing in the spirit; it is more than turning around 14 times and rolling on the floor!  It is more than jerking and crying.  My friend, prophecy is THUS SAITH THE LORD!!

Let me in a hurry share with you the 3 kinds of prophecies that I know.  There may be more, but these are the ones I know…

1:     DECREE-TIVE PROPHECIES.

A decree-tive prophecy is that which has been decreed to happen and does not require the participation of man in any way.  For instance, Jesus said the heaven and earth will pass away…  Peter said the earth shall be rolled up like a scroll…  now whether we pray about this or not, believe or not cannot change it!  It will happen just as the Lord has DECREED!

2:     PROPHECIES FULFILLED THROUGH PRAYERS.

The second one is PROPHECY FULFILLED THROUGH PRAYERS – Elijah had said that he heard the SOUND OF ABUNDANCE OF RAIN and told the king to run before he is stopped.  We saw Elijah went to the mountain to pray for the fulfilment o what he heard – the sound of aboundance of rain.. which he spoke of (prophecy).  Seven times he commanded his servant to go see if there was any sign at all.  Through prayers, he BIRTHED the prophecy!

3:     PROPHECIES FULFILLED THROUGH FAITH AND POSITIVE ACTION.

The third kind of prophecy is that we have failed at PROPHECY FULFILLED THROUGH FAITH AND POSITIVE ACTION: Elisha had prophesied that by this time tomorrow… this he said in his own house not in the kings palace nor the gates of Samaria.  Doubts had filled the air, the prophecy was too impossible to happen just like that.  But 4 half-lings (permit my language usage) but these men were no longer complete, as leprosy had taken the better part of their fingers and toes. These men never heard of any such prophecies, but some how the Force of the Spirit of prophecy had a hold on them and a thought was born in their hearts which was deliberate-able.  “WHY SIT WE HERE TILL WE DIE…”  After much consideration, they decided to face death and to accept whatever the outcome.

They – the 4 half-lings – being uninformed about any prophecy took a positive step of faith and God honored their FAITH – FULL STEPS!

They did as they should, and God did as He should!  God had turned the sound of their incomplete feet to the noise of great number of horses and chariots!  And thus was the prophecy fulfilled!

Now listen, stop weeping and believing that it is over, pray about your prophecies like Elijah did, and act like the lepers acted!  Don’t just sit down in complacency!

Take positive steps and your prophecy will come to be!  Prophecies suffers most in the hands of lazy Christians…
