Do Women Have a Right to Their Own Body? — 9 Comments

  1. Even those who have had abortions and repent of it are forgiven from God.

The apostle Paul had Christians killed prior to being saved and turned out writing several books of the Bible and was totally sold out to God. He was forgiven.

David purposely had a man killed at war so that he could have this man’s wife to become his wife. David was forgiven.

God forgives much more than man does. If one defiantly comes against God and does not repent, then, that one does go to hell. And, of course, if you never receive Jesus as your Savior, you cannot enter Heaven.

I believe that the sin which is not forgiven is blaspheming Holy Spirit. Someone said that this was when one who once served Christ Jesus and then openly denies Him in front of people, that this sin is not forgiven. Correct me if I’m wrong in stating this.

We had best be careful in whom we say that God forgives and doesn’t. God looks on the heart. When we repent and turn from our sin, God forgives us.

  2. We cover abortion so much…but for everyone who rightly calls out abortion but then does not call out organ donation is a hypocrite.
Praying for someone to die so you or a loved one can live is as evil as abortion

  3. Do women have a ‘right to their own body’? It is interesting that this article says that in the case of abortion, that only the woman is accountable for ‘this sin’, and no mention is made of the man’s part in it. She cannot become pregnant on her own!  As usual it paints the woman as a ‘wanton woman’, without any idea of how she came to be in that position in the first place. How do you know that she was not raped or suffered violence?
As a female believer, this is not the message that I have been given in church for the last 40 years. I was told that I have to submit to a man – either my father, or husband or male pastor. Men in the church have misused their spiritual authority and ‘charisma’ to sleep with women in their congregation. I have personally witnessed the devastation on a so called ‘spirit led’, cutting edge church where this happened.
Only the woman caught in adultery was dragged before Jesus – not the man.

    • Agree wholeheartedly…..it is always blamed on the woman as if she impregnated herself and then decided herself.
Rape, abandonment, enforcement from partner are all contributed to abortion.
Also if a man does not know his partners fertile days because he cant be bothered or its upto the woman, then HE is just as guilty of abortion

    • You seem to be conflating two separate events…getting pregnant versus terminating that pregnancy.
The first is the choice of two people, the man and woman. If it is done through an unlawful (adulterous) act, then, yes, it’s against the man (in the case of rape or incest) and against both in the case of unwed sexual immorality.
The second event, however, is, unfortunately, wholly on the woman, and the doctor that performs it. Even if a man insists on the abortion (an act for which he would be guilty of leading someone to sin), ultimately, the woman makes the decision to lie on the operating table.
It’s not about “blaming” someone, but the proper identification of responsibility for the actual acts or decisions.

  4. Father Thank You for Jesus who died to take away our sins! & Thank Yo Father for your Word… 1John 1:9- “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” We need your Mercy & Grace oh Lord as Holy Spirit convicts us all of our sins-knowingly & unknowing. ☝
