Has He Risen Just Once a Year?
Why is it that only once a year people flock to the churches and get all dressed up to hear the same message year after year?
And then tomorrow comes and they quickly forget about it all until the following year?
Is it all for show; is it all about finding new dresses and purses and suits to wear and nothing else?
You plan the finest meals and even say a prayer of thanks to those who have come to celebrate this day with you.
“The birds are singing and the sun is out — surely it is a day to have fun and to be merry,” you say. But then tomorrow comes and everything is forgotten until the following year.
Oh but we all say, “Christ has risen-He has risen indeed!” But then why only celebrate it once a year?
Why not live your life as if He has risen every day?
Do you go about our lives only remembering this just once a year?
We are a people of traditions and not all traditions are wrong certainly. And yet traditions can keep a person from living the truth behind those events every day.
One can go through the motions of doing these things year after year and not realize that they are not to be commemorated only on certain days.
Why must we only remember once a year that Jesus had risen from the grave?
It should be a universal truth that is etched in our minds and hearts so much so that the thought and reality of this strengthens us and propels us forward each and every day.
And so we say, “He has risen!” Then believe this and live it out!
Amen.

Profound. Thanks Brother.
Thank you Sis.
