Having A Form of Godliness… — 13 Comments

  1. What it all comes to is seeking God personally and individually.  Working out our own salvation with Godly fear, and trembling. If we love the world, the love of the father is not in us! Yes, taking hold of eternal life. This article is very good.

  2. A very long and sobering word. Agree wholeheartedly with the parts about ‘christian psychology’ and ‘self esteem’, rather than self denial. Have a theory that when people started going to college/university that they brought this back to their churches and communities and mixed it in.
Churches now run more like businesses and using marketing techniques. Found myself in a church where they were more interested in painting toenails than prayer & bible study. Scripture I was given was ‘stand at the crossroads, ask where the ancient ways were, where is the good way and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. I find myself looking at the faith of the older generations.

  3. So glad that I read this. Yes, we need to be eternally focused.

Very good message which is the message of Jesus Christ.

    Thank you for this post.

  4. Truth!! Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15

  5. What a sobering word.  What came to mind is Isaiah 26:9-11 I think that the gospel of prosperity has done much damage to the Body of Christ.  We are so blessed to have many beautiful things that other nations do not have, but that has robbed us of following hard after the Lord.  My prayer is that the Lord soften the hearts of the people of this nation for repentance and therefore obtain salvation. It is a very sad picture of where the church is before the Lord.  I will pray for this nation and all my family that we be worthy before Him when He returns.  Blessings!!!
