“If ye fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: but if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors,”   James 2:8-9.

Salt and sugar look alike so it is no wonder why many get the two confused.

True discerning mature christian’s do know the difference.  When mature christian’s speak about God’s commandments in teaching us to observe them and love one another, less discerning Christian’s may falsely accuse them of sugar coating the Gospel.

Friends loving one another is not candy teachings it is the Gospel that Jesus Himself preached to His disciples, and His holy command for us to follow and obey.

It is the message that we have heard from the beginning.

“For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,”   1 John 3:11.

“And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.  And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him.  And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us,”   1 John 3:24.

“By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”   John 13:35.

“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savior, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men,”   Matthew 5:13.

“Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.”   Mark 9:50.

“But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducee’s to silence, they were gathered together.  Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, Master, which is the great commandment in the law?  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets,”   Matthew 22:34-40.

“For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself,”   Galatians 5:14.

“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit,”   1 John 4:7-13.

“Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in TABLES OF STONE, but in FLESHY TABLES OF THE HEART. And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: FOR THE LETTER KILLETH , BUT THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE. But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away: How shall not the MINISTRATION OF THE SPIRIT be rather glorious? For if the MINISTRATION OF CONDEMNATION be glory, much more doth the MINISTRATION OF RIGHTEOUSNESS exceed in glory. For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth. For if that which is DONE AWAY was glorious, much more that which REMAILETH is glorious. Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great PLAINNESS OF SPEECH: And not as Moses, which put a veil over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the END OF THAT WHICH IS ABOLISHED: But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same veil untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which veil is DONE AWAY IN CHRIST. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away. Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are CHANGED into the same image from glory to glory, even as BY THE SPIRIT of the Lord,”   2 Corinthians 3:1-18.

“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your HEARTS by FAITH; that ye, being rooted and grounded in LOVE, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the LOVE OF CHRIST, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the FULLNESS OF GOD,”   Ephesians 3:16-19.
