Let’s Go to Gethsemane!….  

(The problem of today’s modern apostleship)

 

“Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, SIT ye here, while I go and pray yonder,”   Matthew 26:36.

This word came to me just a few minutes ago from the LORD and I felt compelled to share it here.

We will be doing a full sermon on it soon in one of our apostolic impact conferences that is, IF THE LORD WOULD HAVE US TEACH IT.

I want to be brief and straight to point on this…..

Note that Jesus didn’t lead His APOSTLE’S to Gethsemane but His DISCIPLES and instructed them to SIT DOWN THERE.

They were to SIT, not STAND, because they may probably not leave there soon and as such a great amount of PATIENCE is required hence the SITTING!

They were to SIT and not RUN AWAY from it…

But what is GETHSEMANE?

It is derived from two Hebrew words: גַּת gath, which means “a place for pressing oil (or wine)” and שֶׁמֶן shemen, which means “oils.”

During Jesus’ days, heavy stone slabs were lowered onto olives that had already been crushed in an olive crusher.  Gradually, the slabs weight squeezed the olive oil out of the pulp, and the oil ran into a pit.  There the oil was collected in clay jars.

What message does this carry for us?

True, we have the HOLY SPIRIT.  True, we have the ANOINTING on the INSIDE.. Yesssssss TRUE!!!

But before the OIL can flow there has to be a CRUSHING of the FLESH (our evil desires, the greed, fornication, adultery, sin which so easily wrap themselves around us).

Note, still that the DISCIPLES would be turned, transformed into APOSTLE’S in the process of SITTING in GETHSEMANE.  And they waited sitting where the LORD asked them to SIT!

I think (for I write by the SPIRIT’S inspiration and you have the same SPIRIT) that the anomalies found in our today’s apostleship is the missing of this TRANSITIONAL stage called DISCIPLESHIP.

I know how it seems to want to be in a position of POWER and LEADERSHIP.

I know how enticing and inviting it is but a true leader would BEG GOD NEVER TO TAKE HIM THERE because of the weight and enormity of its responsibilities… such are the men God can entrust His power with!

So the present day impatient apostle’s who MORTGAGED their discipleship struggle with the debris of the flesh as it contends with the Spirit.

The flesh was not properly dealt with so they carried along with the spirit, the anointing mixture of raw materials and the product and the consumer’s no longer enjoy that pureness of the FINISHED PRODUCT.

Have you not observed the decreasing state of the move of the SPIRIT in our gatherings?

How can you CLAIM to be in the Spirit and at the same time taking ‘selfies’ in what we call worship?

I once thought and I still KNOW that WORSHIP IS ALL ABOUT HIM, NO FLESH CAN BE FOUND IN SUCH ATMOSPHERE.

It is at Gethsemane that we pray the flesh to a stand still position, a dying position.

It is my calculated opinion that our altars are been mounted by living men who ESCAPED the GETHSEMANE DEATH preaching dead messages to a dead people.

Only dead men can preach living messages…!

Let’s go to Gethsemane and be ‘Gethsemaned’!
