Love, Wisdom, Power, Authority and Dominion — 3 Comments

  1. Dear Brother,

I am not sure I understand. But when I think of nice I think of kind.  And doesn’t the word say Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever! Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless. When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭4-11‬ NLT)

    • Dear Hopeful,
The writer related “nice” to the “mother of political correctness,” not to kind(ness).
He is saying “nice” is insipid, spineless, lukewarm and lacking conviction, by not wanting to offend anyone.
None of these describe the Lord our God, Jesus’ ministry on earth, or what His Church ought to be.
In John 6:61, Jesus says of His own teaching, “Does this offend you?”
The teaching of Jesus was truth in love; it was not “nice”, nor was it politically correct.  He never sought to please man.
I pray you get the understanding of this article.

      Blessings in Christ,
      Angus
