Please note that this guidance is by no means exhaustive.  It is intended to cater to all brethren — whether new to, or experienced in, Fasting and Prayer.

First of all, may The LORD bless you tremendously for seeking Him.  For He has said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled,”   Matthew 5:6.

Regarding the fasting, if you can, I recommend 6am – 6pm water-only type; that is, you eat no food in the day until after 6pm.  But drink water during the fast if you are thirsty.

However, if you cannot go that long (i.e. 6am – 6pm), then you may break the fast earlier than 6pm as led by The Holy Spirit.  But continue praying fervently even after breaking the fast.

(NOTE: Please seek your doctor’s advice before Fasting if you are on any medication).

As a Law of God, in approaching Him, enter into His Gates with thanksgiving, and into His Courts with praise.  Be thankful to Him and bless His Name,  (Psalms 100:4).

Thank God for His INDESCRIBABLE Gift of Eternal Life; thank Him for all that you must thank Him for.

Thank God for all His Benefits.  Worship Him.  Sing praises to Him.  The best voice or the worst voice?  God LOVES to hear us sing to Him anyway — irrespective of our singing ability.

(BUT please, do not distract others with your singing).  God REALLY delights in us His children. He SOOO LOVES us.

Ask The LORD Jesus Christ to help and lead you by His Holy Spirit to pray according to His Will, (John 15:5;  Romans 8:26;  1 John 5:14-15).

Ask Him to give you utterance by The Holy Spirit as He did on The Day of Pentecost, (Acts 2:4).

It is of utmost importance to pray fervently by the help of The Holy Spirit.  Fasting without praying fervently amounts to a useless hunger strike, a needless starvation.

As led by The Holy Spirit, quiet yourself and hear Him, (Habakkuk 2:1).

Meditate on The LORD: Who He is.  How He is.  What He has done for us!

Oh, God is BIG! God is GOOD!  And God is SO KIND and ENDLESSLY GENEROUS with His Salvation Package (all that He has laid on for us in this life and in the life to come).

(Please see Ephesians 2:8; 1:7;  Romans 9:23;  1 Corinthians 2:9,12).

Guard against distractions.  Your mobile phone is a prime suspect!  Beware.   (You can of course use your phone to do anything that is directed by The Holy Spirit, for example, to study The Word, research for righteousness as led by The Holy Spirit, take notes, etc.).

2 Corinthians 2:11 cautions us, “lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 

Satan is now using people’s electronic devices for his devices (schemes).  Be vigilant.

The television?  Please switch it off.

Make time to study The Word profusely; ask The LORD Jesus to open your understanding to comprehend His Word; ask ALWAYS to hear His Wisdom and obey Him, (Luke 24:45; Matthew 12: 42; Hebrews 5:9).

Speak in tongues a lot of the time; by this you speak mysteries to God; demons cannot hinder them, (1 Corinthians 14:2);  it is perfect prayer and praying by The Holy Spirit through you, (Romans 8:26).

(If you don’t already speak in tongues, FERVENTLY ask The LORD Jesus Christ; He will baptise you immediately with The Holy Spirit and Fire, Matthew 3:11; Mark 16:17).

Make decrees and declarations as The Holy Spirit gives you utterance. Command and demand!  Do so in The Name of Jesus.

If you sense it, you must decree and declare it.  Prophesy it!  Prophesy to the dry bones to live by The Spirit of Jesus Christ.

As written, “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways,”  Job 22:28.  (God is Light, 1 John 1:5).

I suggest, everyday (and for life), you repent for your sins (known and unknown); ask The LORD to reveal them to you.  Renounce them by The Blood of Jesus and turn away from them.

Pray: “In Jesus’ Name, I renounce this sin (mention it) by The Blood of Jesus!”

Regarding any sin/ problem in your life, simply, but fervently, pray:

“Our Father in Heaven, I repent for my sins, the sins of my parents, the sins of my ancestors (my father’s line and my mother’s line) all the way to Adam and Eve, the sins of other people that brought about… (mention the particular sin, curse or problem) into my life.

I ask You to forgive me and let The Blood of Jesus Christ ,Your Son, cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

I dismantle, uproot and destroy this sin/ curse with The Blood of Jesus and I replace it with Your Righteousness and Blessing.

Amen.  Thank You Father for The Gift of God, Eternal Life!  Hallelu-YAH!”

Then in The Name of Jesus, command the devil to take all his filthy stuff and leave your life!

Command him to return to you seven-fold all that he stole from you and down your generational line — all the way from Adam.

Bind the devil with The Blood of Jesus and PLUNDER his goods by His Hands with the print of the nails.

Please be completely yielded to The Holy Spirit.  Let Him have charge of your fasting and praying.

Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1).  As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20).  And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
