Prayers over Gates — 5 Comments

  1. I recently purchased the book “Prayers that Rout Demons”.
I must say that this book helped me during a spiritual battle I had regarding my son who was bound with drugs which got very to the point of life and death. During my time in the trenches and holding on to the horns of the altar, I would also open this book and read the scriptures out loud and stand on the Word of God for Deliverance for my Son.
My combat boots got muddy but I kept the Faith and did NOT give up and now my son has been delivered and re-dedicated his life back to Jesus Christ and is in Church.
God is still putting his life together and I thank God.
I also want to thank John Eckhardt for his devotion, his time and sensitivity to the Spirit of God with putting the scriptures together that we need regarding spiritual warfare and combating the enemy WITH THE TRUE WORD OF GOD!
    Blessing and Favor,
    Kathy

  2. Thank you for Teaching on standing at the gate.
About ten years ago (I HEARD THE HOLY SPIRIT SAY):
“I WILL STAND YOU AT THE GATE AND THE DEVIL WILL NOT STEAL A CRUMB FROM YOUR FEET.
I HAVE ASKED PEOPLE IN MINISTRY FOR YEARS WHAT IT MEANS.
    NO ONE COULD TELL ME.
I STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS CALLING ME INTO.
I AM WAITING ON HIM TO SHOW ME.”

    • Dear Rena,
Many thanks for your comment and question.
First let me say that the teaching is not ours, but that of Apostle JOHN ECKHARDT, to whom with the Lord Jesus Christ, all credit must be given.
In regard to your question, I beleive you may be called to be a WATCHMAN for the Lord.
May I suggest you read our post on this topic entitled “The Watches of the Lord” which describes both the work and the duties.  As you take up the role of a Watcher and become involved in intercessionary Prayer to protect God’s people, I believe the Lord will begin to change and correct your ways to align you with His exact wishes for you.  In the meantime, please step out in faith and believe that the Lord will be there with you.
Please also read the following scriptures on Watchers:
Second Samuel 18:24-27 “And David sat between the two gates.  And the watchman went up to the roof over the gate to the wall, and lifted up his eyes and looked.  And behold, a man ran alone.  And the watchman cried and told the king.  And the king said, If he is alone, there is news in his mouth.  And he came apace and drew near.  And the watchman saw another man running.  And the watchman called to the porter and said, Behold, another man running alone.  And the king said, He also brings news.  And the watchman said, I see the running of the first is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok.  And the king said, He is a good man, and comes with good news.”
Second Kings 9:17-20 “And a watchman stood on the tower in Jezreel. And he saw the company of Jehu as he came, and said, I see a company.  And Jehoram said, Take a horseman and send to meet them, and let him say, Is it peace?  And the rider on horseback went to meet him and said, So says the king, Is it peace?  And Jehu said, What do you have to do with peace?  Turn behind me!  And the watchman reported, saying, The messenger came to them, but he does not come again.  And the watchman reported, saying, He came up to them, but does not come again.  And the driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi, for he drives furiously.”
Job 27:18 “He builds his house like a moth, and like a booth that a watchman makes.”
Psalm 127:1 “A Song of degrees for Solomon. Unless Jehovah builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless Jehovah keeps the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.”
Isaiah 21:6 “For so Jehovah has said to me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he sees.”
Isaiah 21:11-12 “The burden against Dumah: He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night?  Watchman, what of the night?  The watchman said, The morning comes, and also the night; if you will inquire, inquire, and come again.”
Ezekiel 3:17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman to the house of Israel. Therefore hear the Word of My mouth, and give them warning from Me.”
Ezekiel 33:2 “Son of man, speak to the sons of your people, and say to them: When I bring the sword on it, on a land, and take one man from the people of the land, of their borders, and set him for their watchman…”
Ezekiel 33:6-7 “But if the watchman sees the sword coming, and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned; if the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity.  But I will require his blood at the watchman’s hand.  And you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel.  Therefore you shall hear the Word from My mouth, and warn them from Me.”
Hosea 9:8 “The watchman of Ephraim was with my God. The prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.”
Rena, if the above word aligns with the burden which the Lord has already laid upon your heart, please take it as confirmation.  If, on the other hand, you have not ever felt this particular calling and all this is new to you, please disregard this advice and pray to the Lord for direction.  Remember Second Timothy 2:7 “Consider what I say, and the Lord will give you understanding in all things.”
      Blessings in Christ, Angus
