The presumptuous (fails to observe his or her limitations of what is appropriate and what is not appropriate) prophet versus the true prophet.

The LORD wants His people to know that whenever a person claims to be speaking for God (the essence of prophecy) the key is to COMPARE what is said with what the Bible says.

And, If God is truly speaking through that person today, it should be in 100% complete agreement with what God has already said in the Bible.  And, if it does not bear witness to God’s Holy word that Apostle or Prophet is indeed false!

God does not contradict himself and neither does He work against his own Body or His own Spirit!  In other words, a house divided against itself cannot stand! (Matthew 12:22-28).

Remember, 1 John 4:1 teaches us,

“Dear friends, do not believe EVERY SPIRIT, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

and so does 1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 state,

“Do not treat prophecies with contempt.  Test everything.  Hold on to the good.”

So, whether is it a “Word from the LORD” or a supposed prophecy, your response should be the same:  TO TEST IT!

Remember, their is nothing wrong with comparing what is said to what the Word of God says.  If it contradicts the Bible, throw it out.  If it agrees with the Bible, pray for wisdom and discernment as to how to apply the message that is being spoken (2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:5).

For, I hear God saying that many of us are like a baby bird with your mouths open ready to receive whatever is spoken into your lives!

Just because someone is famous or has a large ministry, doesn’t mean the LORD is happy with them!

And, just because they can gather a large crowd doesn’t mean God has called them or ordained them, because the Bible speaks in the last days, many would be following and going after false Christs and disciples, and we are now living in that dispensation when people are claiming to be disciples of Christ (Christ himself) and they do not believe in the coming of Christ or his return!

And many don’t even believe there is a devil or hell, and yet they are speaking in tongues, casting out devils and even laying hands on the sick…. and they are being healed!  Why?  Because these gifts are irrevocable and without repentance!

“However, when the men that Peter and the disciples had preached to heard the word of God, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.  Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space; And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.  After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed,”   Acts 5:33-37.

You, see not only did the false prophets perish and come to naught, but they who made the decision to follow them, also perished!

For, I believe in this season the LORD is warning the body of Christ to begin to examine and to test the spirits, because we are going to begin to see more false Christs and false prophets arising in the land, drawing weak and gullible souls after them in order to deceive them causing them to walk away from Christ!  Just so you will follow them and their doctrines of devils!

This is why Gamaliel said,

“Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:  but if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.  And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.  And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.  And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”   Acts 5:33-42 KJV.

Note well:

They did not stop proclaiming the Gospel of Christ, but continued to defend it even to the point of being beaten and they loved not their own lives!

Demonstrating that there is a thin line between light and darkness; righteousness and unrighteousness!
