Revival Isn’t a Label
Folk have gotten used to using the word ‘Revival’.
It means many things to so many people and they use it to describe almost any Holy Spirit filled meeting.
Minor but important point — Revival isn’t a label you can put on a meeting. It’s a gift from God.
Revival isn’t something you can decide to have. Rather it’s a sovereign move by a sovereign God by His Holy Spirit to show The Church where it should be and to show the world where it could be!
Revival happens when God lays everyone flat on their faces, weeping or praying in unknown tongues.
Revival happens when the unsaved appear at the Door of the meeting and get bowled over by Holy Spirit, healed, baptised in The Spirit, and left in a sobbing heap by the altar.
Revival is many things to many people, but Signs and Wonders are prominent — spontaneous healings, spontaneous miracles, the unexpected happening all round you.
Revival is MESSY! It’s never neat and tidy! And it never fits our timetables.
I know of one pastor who, in one really powerful meeting, watched as everyone bar himself was flattened by The Spirit.
He said it was like The LORD had taken a mallet and just knocked them all over. He asked The LORD why. “To show you what it will be like when My Presence fills your Meeting and brings Revival!”
Then as I thought about these things this afternoon, The LORD said to me, “Revival isn’t a label you can put on a meeting.
It’s a Gift from Me! So encourage folk not to advertise ‘Revival’ like a commodity you can somehow order or conjure up.
Rather advertise a Spirit-filled and Spirit-led Meeting, seeking My Presence and Revival!
In fact, don’t advertise it at all! When I send Revival, it will advertise itself!”

Amen, I agree. I was a kid during the 70’s Jesus movement but I remember church meetings no one wanted to leave. Revival meetings that turned into weeks of meetings night after night. People on their faces. People slain in the spirit. People so excited they witnessed out on their streets, marched around downtown blocks, sang and preached to the drunks on skid row. Now I hear so many saying, Revival isn’t coming, it is here but I haven’t seen anything like what it was then. And I believe this next move will be far greater.
There is something strange about revival. This is because it is more supernatural rather than natural. Revival is when the Holy Spirit is in control of the church. Jesus can be in first place, but church business can have equal first place and that is idolatry. Galatians 5:17 says that flesh is contrary to Spirit. Acts 17:6 speaks of turning the world upside down. The next move of the Holy Spirit will be a revolution (Junu Thomas, January, 2014). Revolution is a closure movement. If ministries are not fulfilled in the end times, when will they be fulfilled? Dr Strange
Revival will come to the visible church when the reformed one comes out of hiding. How we treat one another is all that is important in the end. Something to remember this week because it is time. I kind of think there will be much crying and carrying on by many church leaders and those who just knew they had it right. Oh well ready or not here He comes in a people
