Righteousness, peace and joy are blessings God our Father has blessed us with through and in Messiah Jesus His Son in The Holy Spirit.

“Therefore let’s not judge one another any more, but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block in his brother’s way, or an occasion for falling.  I know and am persuaded in The LORD Yeshua that nothing is unclean of itself; except that to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.  Yet if because of food your brother is grieved, you walk no longer in love.  Don’t destroy with your food him for whom Messiah died.  Then don’t let your good be slandered, for God’s Kingdom is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in The Holy Spirit.  For he who serves Messiah in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.
So then, let’s follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up.  Don’t overthrow God’s work for food’s sake.  All things indeed are clean, however it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating.  It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak.”   Romans 14:13-21 emphasis added.

Paul wrote that to the believing Jews and Gentiles/ non-Jews in Rome.

Those followers of Messiah didn’t get along very well because many of the Jews had a legalistic propensity to be adsorbed in the mere ceremonies and outward forms of religion and the Gentiles identified in Messiah, see Romans 8.

Here, we will consider how we walk in God’s blessings of righteousness, peace and joy in the Spirit.

That is application of those blessing in what we do.

Righteousness

We do not do righteousness for salvation.  God made Messiah Jesus our salvation.

“Because of him, you are in Messiah Yeshua, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, that, as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in The LORD.”   1 Corinthians 1:30-31.

“He who is righteous, let him do righteousness still. He who is holy, let him be holy still.”   Revelation 22:11b emphasis added (Romans 3:5; 4:3; 4:5-6; 4:9; 4:11; 4:22; 6:16; 8:10; 9:30; 10:3-5; 10:10).

“Paul, an emissary of Messiah* Yeshua through the will of God, to the holy ones who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Messiah Yeshua:  Grace to you and peace from God our Father and The LORD Yeshua the Messiah.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Messiah, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Yeshua the Messiah to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.
In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,  making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Messiah, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.
We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will, to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Messiah. 
In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation — in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.”   Ephesians 1:1-14 emphasis added.

Peace

“Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
Rejoice in The LORD always!  Again I will say, “Rejoice!”  Let your gentleness be known to all men.  The LORD is at hand.  In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.  And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Messiah Yeshua.
Finally, brothers/and sisters, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Do the things which you learned, received, heard, and saw in me, and the God of peace will be with you.”   Philippians 4:4-9 emphasis added.

Paul rested in God’s peace. He concluded his greeting to the Roman Jew and Gentile/ non-Jew followers of Messiah:

“to all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be holy ones: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and The LORD Yeshua the Messiah.”   Romans 1:7.

Then wrote the followings in Romans 2:10; 3:17; 5:1; 8:6; 10:15; 14:17; 14:19; 15:13; 15:33.

Then concluded:

“To Him who has it in His power to make you strong, as declared in the Good News which I am spreading, and the proclamation concerning Jesus Christ, in harmony with the unveiling of the Truth which in the periods of past Ages remained unuttered, but has now been brought fully to light, and by the command of the God of the Ages has been made known by the writings of the Prophets among all the Gentiles to win them to obedience to the faith — to God, the only wise, through Jesus Christ, even to Him be the glory through all the Ages! Amen.”   Romans 16:25-27 WNT.

Joy

For the joy set before him, Messiah Jesus went to the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

“Therefore let’s also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of (Hebrews 11) witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let’s run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Yeshua, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”   Hebrews 12:1-2.

“In that day you will no longer ask Me anything. Truly, truly, I tell you, whatever you ask the Father in My name, He will give you.Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete,”   John 16:23-24 (John 16:16-28; Matthew 18:19-20; 1 Peter 1:8)

“Believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory.”

“I Peter, an emissary of Yeshua the Messiah, to the chosen ones who are living as foreigners in the Diaspora in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, that you may obey Yeshua the Messiah and be sprinkled with his blood: Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who according to his great mercy caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah from the dead, to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you,  who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved in various trials, that the proof of your faith, which is more precious than gold that perishes, even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise, glory, and honor at the revelation of Yeshua the Messiah —  whom, not having known, you love. In him, though now you don’t see him, yet believing, you rejoice greatly with joy that is unspeakable and full of glory, 9 receiving the result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”   1 Peter 1:1-9.
