Years ago The LORD spoke to me in prayer regarding the digging of wells and the sowing of seeds.

I did not really understand it until today when He brought it back to my remembrance!

The biblical wells were a sign of wealth, life and prosperity that flowed to one person from another whenever a person thirsted, as in when Jesus sat and asked for a drink from the woman at the well, to ministry to her, because she was spiritually empty, although He himself just needed a physical drink from this well.

These wells were considered the belly (the doctrine of God; His Word, were The the Holy Ghost resided) because Jesus used the example “out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water,” it was considered a sign of prosperity and abundance at that time for those who had ownership of these wells in the Old Testament; as well as the New Testament — a covenant agreement between God and the ones who built or possessed them.

Many people would even fight, argue, even probably kill to have these wells as an owner of land, to help to grow and to water their cattle and other live stock!

Remember Abraham who surely understood the importance of wells.  The Bible states that Abraham and Abimelech, the King of Gerar, disputed over the ownership of a well and Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech’s servants had violently taken away.

Yet another definition that refers to a well is that it comes from a “hole drilled into the earths core to obtain water, petroleum, natural gas, brine or sulphur.”  So, basically it comes from a pure source whose resources are from God’s own creation.

But like anything else, all wells were not always good wells.  Some did not provide good water and had to be re-dug to get fresh pure water, because many of the enemies of God’s people had stopped them up.  A place where water is issued from, a spring or fountain.  (Genesis 26:18)

The New Testament speaks of wells that have been contaminated by the enemy by stopping them up so no life can flow through them, saying, “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright,”  (Hebrews 12: 15-16 KJV)

However, the wells spoken of by Moses signifies in like manner the Word, or doctrine:  They journeyed to Beer; this is the well whereof Jehovah said unto Moses, “Gather the people together, and I will give them water.”  Then sang Israel this song: (true worship) “Spring up, O well; answer ye from it.”  The princes digged the well, the willing of the people digged it, in the law-giver, with their staves.   (Numbers 21:16-18).

In this season, I believe God is raising up those who will be well diggers, and those whom He will allow to help to build these wells as He begins to pour out His Spirit in a mighty way!

I believe God is going to raise up those who will go into the dry places to prophesy life to the valley of the dry bones in this season.

Like Abraham’s enemy who was Abimelech, the enemy is going to fight you over these wells because he knows if he can cause a root of bitterness and other things to spring forth out of your heart, the core root of your belly, he will be able to stop this prophetic flow of water coming from you as he had given Abraham, Issac and Jacob!

The Holy Ghost is moving in this season and He is going to make a covenant agreement with those who are called in this season and who are building wells in this season.

Not only are you going to feel a gush of The Spirit springing up in you in this season, but God is going to use you to plant seeds in the heart of the earth (the people) that’s going to cause other trees to begin to both bloom and to blossom from the wells (seeds) you plant, but also trees are going to begin to sprout up everywhere, because of the seeds you plant in this season!

There will be no contamination from these wells and no dirt from the enemy will stop them up because like Issac, God is going to use those whom He has called to go in and to unstop those wells that the enemy has contaminated, by the pureness of the waters that flow through you, and new trees are going to be established from the seed that Holy Spirit gives you to sow in this season!

I thank God for releasing this Word today, because I remembered a while ago Him saying to me, “You shall dig wells and plant seeds!”

I never quite understood until today as I was meditating upon The LORD what all that entailed.

No wonder the enemy fights our worship and our praises so much, because he knows the more we stir up these wells on the inside, the more Holy Spirit is going to flow through us bringing about a refreshing!

The more you sanctify your flesh and crucify it, the harder it will be for him to contaminate your anointing and the more you’re anointing flows the more influential you will be in God’s Kingdom, causing yokes to be broken, chains to fall off and strongholds to be broken for those in captivity!

For, “The Spirit of The LORD God is upon me; because The LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of The LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of The LORD, that he might be glorified.

And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.

And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.

But ye shall be named the Priests of The LORD : men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.”   (Isaiah 61:1-6 KJV)
