The Gideon Warriors of Jesus: The Water Test — 9 Comments

  1. Hello Yanchun

    No, not only one Scripture. Many many Scripture verses emphasise the indispensable truth to both believe and obey God, or be destroyed by Him.

    “If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures. But if they do not obey, They shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge. “But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath; They do not cry for help when He binds them. They die in youth, And their life ends among the perverted persons.” Job 36:11‭-‬14.

    See Isaiah 1:19‭-‬20 also.

    In Revelation chapters two and three, The LORD Jesus Christ repeatedly warned the disobedient about removing them, vomiting them out of His Mouth, even fighting against them with The Sword of His Mouth!

    As I noted previously, only those who do The Will of The Father (that is, hear and obey The Word of God) have Salvation – those who believe and OBEY Jesus.

    Please read what The LORD said in Matthew 7:21.

    Yanchun, “Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what The Will of The LORD is.” Ephesians 5:17.

    You must be careful not to have error in understanding The Word of God. Don’t lean on your own understanding. {:-)

    To BELIEVE in Jesus Christ is to both have faith in Him and do His Will (obey Him).

    If you believe in Jesus Christ but do not obey Him (do His Will) then He is not your LORD. We must have The LORD Jesus Christ as both LORD and Saviour.

    A disobedient believer in Jesus gets locked out of Heaven, (Revelation 22:15). Please be warned.

    “For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of The Truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.” Hebrews 10:26‭-‬27.

    See also 1 John 3:7‭-‬10; 5:18.

    If you believe in Jesus you MUST by all means obey Him.

    To believe in Jesus is to obey Him.

    To believe in Jesus is to “…repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance [that is, OBEY Him].” (Acts 26:20).

    I say again that Salvation is only for those who obey Jesus Christ, (Hebrews 5:9).

    Shalom!
    Jacob

  2. hi, Jacob, If our belief based on one verse, and ignore all others that may lead us in danger . as we know “I the LORD do not change ” ( Mal3:6).he who credited Abram as righteousness because he BELIEVED(Ge15:6), he will do the same to ALL WHO BELIEVE as it is written: 1/ EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name ( Ac10:43); 2/ Through him EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES is justified…( Ac13:39); 3/The Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles BY FAITH and announced the gospel IN ADVANCE to Abraham …(Gal3:8); 4/ that EVERYONE WHO BELIEVES in him may have eternal life …(Jn3:15-18); 5/I write these things to you WHO BELIEVE IN the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you HAVE ETERNAL LIFE (1Jn5:13); 6/Whoever BELIEVES in the Son has eternal life (Jn3:36); 7/ For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and BELIEVES in him SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE , and I will raise him up at the last day .(Jn6:40); 8/ I tell you the truth he who BELIEVES HAS ETERNAL LIFE ( Jn6:47);9/ But these are written that you may BELIEVE that Jesus is the Christ , the Son of God ; and that BY BELIEVING you may have life in his name ( Jn20:31); 10/ But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised , being given through faith in Jesus Christ , might be given to those WHO BELIEVES (Gal3:22). more verses at Ro3:22, Eph2:8-9. may the Holy Spirit enlighten us with TRUTH , so that our faith may build on THE ROCK that will never be moved in any storm . Amen !!!

  3. but Jacob,according to the scripture salvation is not based on obedience, but believe; is a FREE GIFT for EVERYONE who believes ( 1Co15:3-4) in him receives forgiveness (Ac10:43) ; is justified ( Ac13:39,Gal3:8); will not be condemned (Jn3:18, 5:24) ; but have eternal life ( Jn3:14-16, 36, 6:40, 47, Ro3:22, Eph2:8-9). yet the KINGDOM of heaven( which is IN the temple ) requires obedience as Jesus said in Mt7:21-23 and it must go through many hardships ( Ac14:22) , been forcefully advancing ( Mt11:12) , the greatest in it will be those who ‘become like little children’ and’ practices and teaches those commands’ ( Mt18:3, 5:19-20) , and being built without human’s hand ( Da2:44-45).and only Levites ( Nu3:11-13, 8:15-18)are chosen by the LORD( Ex32:26-29, Nu8:9-11, Dt10:8-9, 1Ch23:13-14) and the covenant was with them ( Jer33:19-22, Mal2:4-5); they are the kingdom priests , even FOREVER ( Mal3:3-4, Ex19:5, 1Pe2:9); specifically the descendants of zadok who may draw near to the LORD( Eze40:46, 43:19, 44:15-16).but those( believers) who follow their flesh which is ‘ hostile to God ; it does not submit to God’s law , nor can it do so ‘ ( Ro8:7 ) ,they keep drinking the milk and unable to eat the meat to become mature , always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth ( 2Ti 3:7) , they will be left behind to go through the refining fire ( Rev7:1-14). just like all American governors ( kingdom) must have American citizenship( salvation) , but not all Americans ( salvation )are in the government ( kingdom ). Amen!

    • Dear Yanchun

      As I noted previously,“And having been perfected, He [Jesus] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who OBEY Him,” Hebrews 5:9.

      Only those who believe and OBEY Jesus have Salvation.

      Shalom!
      Jacob

  4. Ah but don’t you worry, there will be many in heaven. see NIV Rev 7 – and these are just the ones coming out of the great tribulation. Think of all the saints from ages past who will be in glory.  Heaven will not be empty, that’s for sure!

    9 After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. 10 And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God,who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.”
    14 And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore,
    “they are before the throne of God
    and serve him day and night in his temple;
    and he who sits on the throne
    will shelter them with his presence.
    16 ‘Never again will they hunger;
    never again will they thirst.
    The sun will not beat down on them,’
    nor any scorching heat.
    17 For the Lamb at the center of the throne
    will be their shepherd;
    ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’
    ‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

    • Dear Mark

      Thanks for your comments.

      Those are the few out of all mankind.

      We MUST be among the few chosen. Let’s continue to believe and OBEY our LORD Jesus Christ.

      Shalom!
      Jacob

  5. please correct me if I misunderstand you quote ” those going to heaven are very few ” are you mean salvation ?

    • Yes indeed. As I noted above, The LORD Jesus said, “Many are called, but few are chosen…” (Matthew 20:16; 22:14).

      Only those who do The Will of The Father (that is, hear and obey The Word of God) have Salvation – those who believe and OBEY Jesus. (Please see Matthew 7:21; Hebrews 5:9).
