I had a dream a couple of nights ago and in it I was surrounded by ‘family.’

The faces were not the faces of my family members in real life, but I believe it represented the faces of many families, as well as those in God’s family.

There was an enemy that kind of gave me the impression they were like CIA spies or something, and they had intimidated me in order to cause fear, so that I actually sold out my family members and brought accusations against them.

He wanted people to take sides.  Angry and confused, those family members confronted me and it could have turned quite ugly, except when looking into their faces I realized that my family was not my real enemy.

After we talked, we all decided that family sticks together and we forgave one another.  We remembered that it was the enemy to blame, for it was his fault for pitting us against one another in the first place.

He had been playing a game at our expense, using his tactics to create suspicion, rejection, accusations and anger.

The result was that we threw each other to the wolves, until we remembered that the enemy was enjoying the game.

We realized the tactics of the enemy and that we had been played, so we forgave one another.  Once we did, reconciliation occurred and we all decided to gang up on the enemy instead of each other.

End of dream.

This message can be applied to many people and situations.

God is reminding us to remember that healing and reconciliation can never happen as long as people hold on to their judgements.

Forgiveness is the only path to reconciliation.  Family is important to God.  We must forgive, because He has shown us forgiveness when we too did not deserve it.

Forgiveness restores us to right relationship with God, and it also releases you from the enemy’s hand.

Anyone that is retaining an offense or judgements against someone else is not free, no matter how justified they may feel.

God is giving people this reminder because it is like a ‘get out of jail free card.’  All you have to do is change your mind and let go of it.

Choose mercy for yourself and others.  Let them off the hook, just like God has done for you.

Nothing would please our Father more than when we choose to overcome through love.
