“My son, let them not depart from your eyes — Keep sound wisdom and discretion; so they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.  Then you will walk safely in your way, And your foot will not stumble.  When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet.
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for The LORD will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught,”   Proverbs 3:21-26.

While we are in the midst of this epidemic that has spread across the globe, people are living in fear and concerned about a whole host of things, and perhaps rightly so.

But I believe that we truly need to keep our heads and to establish sound wisdom, for it will guard our hearts and minds during this crucial time.

And yet some are still in groves walking around as if they will be protected from all of this, because they say that God will protect them.

Of course it is true that God will protect those who put their hope and faith in Him, “but” at the same time He gives wisdom and understanding to those who ask of Him.

When many still flock to the churches thinking that it is safe to go and continue doing what they have been doing, I believe they are being foolish and actually, tempting God to see what would happen.

I am reminded of how satan came to Jesus in the wilderness and tempted Him to throw Himself off a cliff.

“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.  And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungred.  And when the tempter came to Him, he said, ‘If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.’  But He answered and said, ‘It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.’  Then the devil taketh Him up into the Holy City, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto Him, ‘If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee’ and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.’  Jesus said unto him, ‘It is written again, thou shalt not tempt The LORD thy God’,”   Matthew 4:1-7.

During this difficult time as we hear all kinds of news reports, and strange sometimes off-the-wall stories, may we truly find what is true and what is not.

We don’t need to go to a building and celebrate “Church,” because as we should rightly know, the building is not the Church — we are.

While at this time, it would seem that we are losing our freedoms, keep in mind that not doing some things, is actually helping us to remain safe.

Don’t fall prey to everything that you read on the internet, but sort through it, discerning what may well be true and spit out the rest.

Truly, we do live in difficult times and it should be obvious that we have now entered into a time frame when we are being hurled into the very last of days, whether you believe in that or not.

But in spite of all this that is going on around us and even with us, don’t lose sight of the fact that we still have a loving Savior that is there with us.

Allow this time to give you more focus about all of this.

Somehow find the mindset to consider these days as a marathon and not a sprint when we are daily running this race we call life.

Strengthen yourselves so that you will make it through even perhaps more difficult days ahead.

Training has that purpose for athletes and we are not without that need particularly as spiritual ones.
