The prayer Jesus prayed to His Father for His Disciples and those who would come unto Him.
When I read the prayer Jesus prayed to the Father for His Disciples and all those who would come to him in The Father’s name, it was absolutely selfless!
A prayer of humility and a prayer of devotion to the Father that demonstrates His undying love to those who would choose the path of salvation, is something we as saints should be eternally grateful for!
It demonstrates Christ’s faith to bring salvation and to believe that all those entrusted to Him would not be lost and that those that would be lost, were the ones who were not given to Him!
Here Jesus reveals what it takes and what it is to make disciples out of true men and women of God!
He speaks of The Word of God, being the real key to transforming lives. He speaks of the divine Will and the plan of God to place those He wants Him to bring to the fold; unlike the Church of today’s world, who fight, bicker and are cutting throats just to get disciples and numbers in the Church!
Not once did Christ reveal weaknesses or worry about sheep leaving him to go into greener pastures, but instead He prayed a prayer of faith, trusting God that what the Father had given Him, was the key source for His success, and that those He had been sent (or that would come) from the Father to disciple as believers, would would remain in His presence as He fulfilled His Father’s assignment in the earth.
Jesus was not a glory seeker looking to be some great mega-ministry preacher in order to bring glory to himself; yet today’s Churches are filled with those seeking to be elevated, promoted not for the gospel’s sake, but because it brings glory to them.
So what happens to those seeking to promote their own kingdom here on earth?
Well, most end up honoring men, greedy, seeking after the lust of the flesh and dropping names and placing Apostle, Dr., Reverend, Bishop etc. to their names, because they feel it will some how make them feel important or validated in lives.
Not Jesus…. His main goal was to please The Father!
And, not to mention those who call themselves Generals, who have become afraid that a new generation of Apostles and Prophets are arising to get their mantles etc. and have come to replace them.
So what happens? They belittle those who are full of zeal and excitement by making them feel as though they must work and pay the exact same price they paid, or no promotion is coming their way!
But Jesus was not into all that. His heart was to create character and honor in the hearts of those whom He was making disciples of, by modeling true holiness in the lives of those He ministered to.
This is why He prayed for them to receive what He Himself had received from The Father; Sanctification and True Holiness!
“These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.
And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. (He was about assignment/ mission)
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. (He sought God to be transformed into His likeness and His image)
I have manifested thy name (Pointed me to Christ not Him) unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. (He made sure what He was teaching exemplified God’s divine will and Character)
For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, (The key to His teaching were always scripture based) and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.
I pray for them: I pray (He was a man of prayer on His knees) not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. (He demonstrated responsibility for the church as a spiritual parent but the church of today’s world is driven by Leaders being serviced rather than servanthood to those that we disciple! You notice Christ was never seen as a Christ looking to be served but His character was to serve others in society!)
And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. (He expressed unity rather than division)
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. (He was not looking to hold onto the world as a crutch to straddle the fence and make excuses as to why he wanted to return back into bondage taking advantage of grace.)
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, BUT the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.
I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. (He prayed for the good of the church; no jealousy, envy or guile in his heart)
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. (He released other into their destiny instead of holding on to them to brag about Himself or because He was intimidated by what He saw in them might supersede His own works but prayed they would do even greater works!)
And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. (He wanted not only His little tribe to be blessed but for all Nations that would come to be awaken by His glory)
And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; (He imparted and equipped disciples) that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it : that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (He left a commandment for those who loved him to also love all men!) (John 17:1-26 KJV).

As a Missionary, God moved her into the Office of a Prophet, revealing to her the qualities of a True prophet, humility, humiliation, loving others, interceding in prayer, as she keeps her own life clean to accurately hear from God. Since hearing the audible voice of God calling her to ministry, she’s been called to intercede and pray for others in ministry as God speaks, instructs, directs and gives prophetic words for her to give to others. God promised He would bring her to sit and to learn before great men, all of which He did!
