Elijah was there in that place where we all have been, or may even be now.

He was hiding, and he was waiting!  However outside this cave, there were all kinds of activity going on — wind, earthquake, and fire.

Now, surely God could deliver Elijah by any of these ways.  However, God wasn’t in any of this busy activity.

Often we look for God to move and deliver us the way He has done for someone else.  We love the fire of the Holy Ghost.

We tremble at His Presence.  We rejoice to feel His wind on our faces.  However, we must be content to let our God answer us in the way He chooses, knowing that His ways are better than our own.

Sometimes God speaks when and where we least expect it.  Elijah probably expected God in the wind, earthquake, and fire, but God wasn’t in those heart-pounding experiences.

Instead God spoke in a gentle whisper, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” — just a quiet question that cut Elijah to the bone.

God’s voice, often a whisper, but always full of truth.

I hear that gentle whisper of The LORD this morning saying for you, “Come out of the cave and take your Warrior stance!”

We stand tall with our feet balanced so that we can move at a moment’s notice — just like a warrior ready for the attack.

We stand with our eyes wide open not in haughtiness of spirit, but with an awareness of our surroundings for our enemy is on the prowl.

Our left hand is raised over our chest symbolizing that raised shield of faith that will block the fiery darts of confusion, doubt, bitterness and anger hurled towards our hearts and mind. In our right hand, we hold the Sword of the Spirit, the Mighty Word of God that is sharper and more powerful than any physical weapon, because it has the power to pierce beyond muscle and bone into the very souls of those deceived by the evil one.

Our heads gazing toward the heavens as our mouths speak aloud words of praise and petition as we go on the offensive — taking back the ground that Satan has stolen from our lives and from the lives of those we love.

The ones who have given him that toehold that turned into a foothold that will eventually become a stronghold that can only be torn down by the spiritual weapons that God has provided.

Listen, Warriors of our Holy God, let’s take a stand!

Let’s make a difference!
