Yesterday at lunchtime, The LORD brought back to me a testimony from several years ago.

Back then, two pastors who were working overseas invited Jill and I to visit them for a week and minister with them as The LORD led.

Early in the morning of the third day of our visit, The LORD woke me and asked that I deliver a personal message to a local leader.

Now nothing like that had ever happened to me before, so I sought The LORD for confirmation that indeed, He wanted me to pass on that specific message, to that specific man. The LORD then confirmed it.

As I lay there, totally overwhelmed with my situation, I remembered that prophets had told me that such things happen to them regularly. So, I changed my mindset and declared to myself that this was not ‘unusual’ and set to work out how to accomplish the task.

Then it came to me that the pastors who had invited us would know how to contact this man, and that one of them would soon be down in the hotel lobby to accompany us out for breakfast. Knowing him, I guessed he would be early and already sitting there in prayer.

So I rose immediately, showered, and went to the lobby to where he was, and told him the story. After listening, he summed it up by asking me to confirm that I wanted to pass this particular message onto this particular man. At that, he said he thought he’d better send a text message out, so the details did not get lost in transit.

However, before the message was even begun, my family arrived and we all left for breakfast.

In the restaurant, as I sat down, the pastor came to me and said, “Angus, no need to send the message!  You have been invited to minister in his house tomorrow night.  You can tell him yourself.”

Honestly, I was stunned. But a while later, I came to recognise that as soon as I had stepped out in faith and obedience to deliver the message, The LORD arranged things for me.

The next morning, again I was awoken by The LORD and I asked Him a couple of questions about all this, first asking, “LORD, if this man is Christian, why did you not speak to him Yourself?” The LORD then reminded me of Genesis 1:26.

My next question was something like, “LORD, if this man is Christian, I guess he has lots of Christians around him. Why did you choose me to pass on the message?”

The LORD then replied, “Don’t get proud. You are not My first choice. You may not even be My ninth choice.”

My last question was to ask The LORD for a Bible verse to give the local leader, in order to confirm the message was clearly from The LORD.

That night we arrived early, and I passed on the message and the supporting scriptures.  However, before the end of the ministry session, the local leader left the meeting to go the airport to receive a visiting dignitary.

After I reacquainted myself with this experience, I asked The LORD what He wanted to have me to understand from this.

I believe the first message is that things are not as they seem, and not as simple as they seem in the prophetic.

When The LORD said I was not His first choice to pass on His message, that did not surprise me.

But when He said, “You may not even be My ninth choice….”, I interpreted that to mean than The LORD had asked at least nine others before me, but none were willing to answer His call, or they had failed.

That was a stunner for me.  For had we arrived late, or had I decided to pass the message after the ministry session, the message would not have been given on time.

It also gave me a deeper insight as to how the LORD may work in certain situations, with and through His People only.

I believe The LORD wants to let us know that there are more things about what happened in the recent 2020 US Elections than we can ever know or imagine.

He confirmed this to me by having me seek out and quote a statement from Englishman Graham Cooke, “God allows in His wisdom what He could easily prevent by His power.”

I also understand from this that The LORD is letting us know that He is in control and will have His Way, but we have parts to play too, which either help or hinder His Plans.

The LORD confirmed this principle to me minutes ago, when He reminded me of an old proverb stating, “A Kingdom was lost — all for want of a nail.” (Wiki)
