Who Shall and Who Shall Not Enter Heaven? — 2 Comments

  1. Cynthia,

Yes we are to follow the Bible. However, I’m afraid you have fallen into works. As you quoted there is none good but God. I will never get into heaven by being perfect. The law was written to show how evil man(including myself) is. Jesus fulfilled the law. I will get into heaven only on his good works. Am I to sin NO. The Bible says that. Just please be careful you don’t get wrapped up into doing things to get into heaven and not know him.

Yes we need to do his will. However,
Mat 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

  2. Angus,
I would like to add two more witnesses in the Gospels.
To get to Heaven you have to keep ALL 10 commandments.

    Matthew 10
17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.'” 20 And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
    Luke 18
18 A ruler questioned Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 19 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 20 You know the commandments, ‘DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.'” 21 And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” 22 When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

Repent means to me the same today that it did when John the Baptist was on the edge of the Jordan.  Turn back to the LORD and make your paths straight for Him otherwise He will not come to you.  I was not satisfied with the faith walk/life I had until I truly started following the Lord’s example.  The Lord kept all Ten Commandments and so did the Disciples and early Believers and so did Paul.  Paul even said let no one judge in those matters.
Col 2:16 Therefore let no one pass judgement on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath.

My experience is that until I kept all 10 Commandments and started to listen to how God wanted me live and worship (not how the Church believes) and then topped it off with believing in the Lord’s work on the earth, then that was when the Lord baptized me Himself with the Holy Spirit.  Not like anything you see or hear about in the Church, but straight out of the NT.  It lasted for weeks.  I lost 20 pounds.  I even prophesied some.  Awesome Divine Joy and a love of the Father and Lord unlike I could ever muster myself.  And then came His Voice, unlike your own voice, straight to the point like an arrow, right to your heart.

Christians do not know what they are missing.  All the Words in the NT are TRUE and it is TRUE that the Lord enters YOU when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit.  He talks to you and says He loves you and gets after you when your err.  It is amazing and the Mystery Paul talks about.
    Romans 8:9-11

    Thanks Angus,
    Cynthia
