The False Gospel of the Antichrist Spirit
A false gospel has been arising over the last decades that seems very holy in some ways, but the source behind it is the Antichrist spirit.
We will define this false gospel and then examine the scriptures that prove it to be false.
The deceptive strategies of the Antichrist spirit are at work in The Church to draw attention away from Christ to people groups or religious causes.
We cannot allow the enemy to sidetrack us with other things. Our attention must be on the Son of God and drawing closer to Him every day.
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel — not that there is another gospel, but there are some who are confusing you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim to you a gospel contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let that one be accursed!” Galatians 1:6-8 NRSVUE..
The False Gospel
Here are the darkened reasonings of the Antichrist spirit regarding the false gospel:
“There is a people of God even if they don’t follow Jesus. As long as you worship the God of the Old Testament, you have God and are the people of God. If you are the natural descendants of Abraham, then the promises are for you, and you are the chosen people of God. If you observe the Old Testament and believe in that God, then you are believing in the same book and God as Christians; therefore, you have God and are His people.”
Essentially this false gospel states that there are two ways to God — and two ways to eternal life.
- This false gospel teaches that you can be God’s people without Jesus Christ.
- It teaches that you can be a partaker of the blessings and promises of God without having Jesus.
I hope we can see the danger in this and the deception it spreads.
This doctrine is clouding the minds of young believers in The Church as they are being programmed by it.
This doctrine exalts sinful men and takes our focus from Christ by directing it to a people group.
The Antichrist spirit loves to draw our focus away from Jesus.
Examining the Scriptures
“He was in the world, and the world came into being through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to what was his own, and his own people did not accept him. But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave power to become children of God.” John 1:10-12 NRSVUE.
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”” John 14:6 NRSVUE.
Jesus came to His own people (according to the flesh), but most rejected Him.
All who did accept Him were given the right to be God’s children (His people).
It’s clear that the only way to God the Father and eternal life is through Jesus Christ.
Those who reject Christ will spend eternity in the torment of Hell.
Discerning the Antichrist Spirit
“I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and that no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is Antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” 1 John 2:21-23 NKJV.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.” 1 John 4:1-3 NKJV.
The Antichrist spirit is the one behind denying that Jesus is God, Christ, Messiah, and Son of God.
The Antichrist spirit, operating through people, denies Jesus.
Those who believe that Jesus was a false prophet/ teacher are liars and the truth is not in them.
When they deny Christ, they also deny the Father because the Father and Son are One.
It’s impossible to have Father God if you deny Jesus.
The scriptures show that you can’t have the God of the Old Testament if you reject the New Testament revelation of Jesus Christ. No exceptions!
Calling the Father a Liar
“He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” 1 John 5:10-12 NKJV.
Whoever says they believe in the God of the Old Testament but refuses to believe in Jesus as God’s Son is calling the Father a liar.
They do this because they have no life within themselves, but only the Antichrist spirit who rejects Jesus.
How could we call anyone “God’s people” if they don’t believe the Father and are calling Him a liar!
The Father certainly doesn’t consider someone to be “His” if they hate His Son and call Him a liar.
We are only “His” when we humble ourselves and confess Jesus as LORD.
Hating Jesus
“Whoever hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not have sin. But now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. It was to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without a cause.’” John 15:23-25 NRSVUE.
Everyone who believes Jesus was a false teacher/prophet and failed leader is demonstrating by their beliefs that they detest, abhor, and hold ill will against Him.
In other words, they believe He is a liar, and they hate Him. Those who dishonor Jesus dishonor the Father.
People may never openly admit that they hate Jesus, but their beliefs and actions are what determine reality.
He is either honored or despised. Those who hate Jesus — hate the Father.
Many believe they are serving the God of the Old Testament and worshiping Him, when in reality, they hate Him and believe Him to be a liar.
These people are in a deep deception and will be judged according to the words that Jesus spoke on the last day when they stand before the throne of God, unless they repent and turn to Jesus.
Condemned Already
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world but in order that the world might be saved through him. Those who believe in him are not condemned, but those who do not believe are condemned already because they have not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed.” John 3:16-20 NRSVUE.
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever disobeys the Son will not see life but must endure God’s wrath.” John 3:36 NRSVUE.
The Argument of Abraham
“Then they said to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”” John 8:19 NRSVUE.
“They answered him, “Abraham is our father.”
“Jesus said to them, “If you are Abraham’s children, you would do what Abraham did, but now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did. You are indeed doing what your father does.” They said to him, “We are not illegitimate children; we have one Father, God himself.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God, and now I am here. I did not come on my own, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot accept my word. You are from your father the devil, and you choose to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is from God hears the words of God. The reason you do not hear them is that you are not from God.”” John 8:39-47 NRSVUE.
Some people thought that they were holy and God’s People, because they were descendants of Abraham.
Jesus rebukes their foolishness and tells them that they don’t even know the God of the Old Testament (even though they knew the scriptures very well). Jesus tells the people that their father is the devil.
If they were God’s people, they would have recognized God when He stood before them.
The Promises to God’s People
The scriptures clearly teach that all who call on the name of Jesus Christ for salvation and believe in His name are God’s people.
It doesn’t matter what race someone is or what social class they are. The only requirement is to honor the Father by believing in the Son and becoming born of the Spirit of God.
God’s Spirit dwelling in us makes us the people of God or His children. The promises of Abraham are ours in Christ.
“Just as Abraham “believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness,” so, you see, those who believe are the descendants of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would reckon as righteous the gentiles by faith, declared the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “All the gentiles shall be blessed in you.” For this reason, those who believe are blessed with Abraham who believed.” Galatians 3:6-9 NRSVUE.
“But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.” Romans 9:6-8.
“Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring; it does not say, “And to offsprings,” as of many, but it says, “And to your offspring,” that is, to one person, who is Christ.” Galatians 3:16 NRSVUE.
“for in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. As many of you as were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Greek; there is no longer slave or free; there is no longer male and female, for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 3:26-29 NRSVUE.
God’s People and Nation
“Come to him, a living stone, though rejected by mortals yet chosen and precious in God’s sight, and like living stones let yourselves be built into a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in scripture: “See, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.” This honor, then, is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, “The stone that the builders rejected has become the very head of the corner,” and “A stone that makes them stumble and a rock that makes them fall.” They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do. But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:4-10 NRSVUE.
The Holy Spirit through Peter teaches that if we receive Christ, then we are God’s chosen people and His holy nation.
Christ in us is what makes us chosen, holy, and His. Christ is the only one who can make any fallen human special.
The Son of God is beautiful, holy, magnificent, and extremely special.
No human, nation, or race could ever be chosen or special apart from Jesus Christ.
To think we are called, chosen, or special without Christ dwelling within us is extremely prideful.
Be careful of any doctrine or teaching that diminishes Christ and teaches another way to God or another way to be God’s people.
There is only one Gospel and one way to the Father. His name is Jesus.
Only through Jesus do we have the right to be children of God and become His own special possession.
May we become His Chosen Generation and His Royal Priesthood.
