HKP is a non-commercial website and is owned and operated by Angus & Jill MacKillop at their expense. There are some pages on HKP where visitors may need to provide some limited personal information, e.g. on the Contact forms and in user comments. All information provided to us is kept private and used only for the purpose it is provided. No Contact Form information is kept on the HKP website and is deleted within 12 months.

User Data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, though this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
HKP is part of a network of sites that protect against distributed brute force attacks. To enable this protection, the IP address of visitors attempting to log into the site is shared with a service provided by ithemes.com.

User Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the Comments Form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments will be checked through an automated spam detection service and an anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy-notice/.
After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Email addresses submitted on post comments are not visible to other HKP users and are only stored with the comment for administrative uses related to that comment.
We do not use any information submitted through comments or contact forms for any marketing purposes.

Cookies
If you have an account on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. When you log in to the site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

HKP may use Google Analytics, Bing Webmaster Tools and/or Quantcast to collect anonymous data from visitors under their standard terms and conditions and privacy commitments. To do this, they do use a Cookie to determine if you are a new or returning visitor and to help the accuracy of our statistics.
Some statistical information is collected automatically and is anonymous, for example:

• the ISP the visitor is using.
• the time of the day the connection is made.
• which site they arrived from if using a link on another site.
• which browser (& versions) the visitor is using.
• which operating system the visitor is using.
• which screen resolution the visitor is using.
• pages and posts read and time spent reading.

This information is used purely to improve user enjoyment of the site, for the internal functional evaluation of HKP website and error checking, and it is not shared with others or used by HKP for other purposes.

HKP are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn a small fee by linking to Amazon.com and its affiliated sites and as an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

For our daily RSS Newsletters, we use both Mailerlite and Mailchimp as providers under their standard terms and conditions and privacy commitments. No personal user information is held directly by HKP or is shared with other parties. At the termination of subscriptions, all subscription data is deleted and all archived user records are removed within 30 days. A double confirmation opt-in may be required for subscribers.

All donations to HKP are handled through PayPal in accordance with their standard terms and conditions and privacy rules. Other than the acknowledgement of donors on the HKP Donor’s Page, no other donor information is stored by HKP outside PayPal.
