Age is No Barrier
This is a subject that has been close to my heart for many years.
Age is no barrier!
As my own brother said to me once, “It’s just a number!”
♥ My hero, Smith Wigglesworth was in his fifties before he started in ministry and he was still in ministry over thirty years later.
♥ Arthur Burt was still preaching when he was 100 years old.
♥ Moses was eighty and had forty more years ahead of him, Joshua was eighty five and like Moses had many years still ahead, and the Apostle John was in his nineties and still writing and ministering.
The thing is this —- many, many people have ministered well into what the world regards as ‘retirement’.
The world throws our experience on the scrap heap at sixty five years of age, but The LORD never says to stop working for a His Kingdom.
Here’s what Gods Word says,
“Planted in the house of The LORD, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still yield fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and very green, to declare that The LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Psalm 92:13-15
“Even to your old age I will be the same, and even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it , and I will carry you ; And I will bear you and I will deliver you .” Isaiah 46:4
“No longer will there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not live out his days; for the youth will die at the age of one hundred and the one who does not reach the age of one hundred Will be thought accursed.” Isaiah 65:20
The LORD is calling all His ‘ministry veterans’, all His ‘prayer and intercession veterans’, all His ‘mentoring veterans’ to renew themselves in Him.
I hear Him saying, “There has never been a greater need for The Church to hold on to its experienced warriors, for the coming spiritual war will require their love, their wisdom, both their life and their Faith skills.
Even though many are white with age, they shall know My Hand upon them!” says The LORD, “And they shall lead the young where ‘angels fear to tread’, and they shall mentor the next generation of leaders, revivalists, watchmen, and intercessors.”
Yes Saints, there is more of a role than ever before for those with experience to help those with little or no experience to become conquerors and to lead the way into the coming harvest field that is revival.
~ Chris G. Bennett
Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
Yes.Amen.Thank you Chris Bennett.Thank you Sandi.
Chris, This is so true and full of wisdom and encouragement for those who are n that time of their life. Thanks for the reminder that age is no factor iu the call and plan of God. I shall pass this on to some who have just ‘thrown in the towel’. Blessings, my brother. Sandi
