Our Inheritance
To whom will you pass your light?
The LORD asked me one morning, “Who will carry your legacy forwards?”
When I balked at answering, He continued, “I mean, your generation will not be here forever.
Paul had his Timothy — Bonnke has his Kolenda — who have you prepared to carry everything forward to the next generation?
It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, you need to be prepared to pass your baton!”
Then, suddenly, I saw an army of ants! “What on earth . . .?”
The LORD stopped me. “Ants are always ready to undermine your house, your life, your inheritance.
Prepare to get rid of them by having a successor ready.
They will not undermine where there is heavy traffic, but leave them in peace and they will undermine the very foundations you have built on.”
The LORD then began to give me a burden for raising the next generation of The Church.
“You know already that the young will be at the forefront of this next move, but who will train them?
Who will mentor them? Who will pass on experience to the next generation of apostles, prophets, evangelists, teachers, and pastors?”
It occurred to me that in virtually every church of 100 or more people, there is probably 1000 years worth of experience — and much of that experience is going to waste!
It is surely time to harvest that experience so that the coming harvest is maximised.
~ Chris G. Bennett
Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
Thank you Chris for spelling out what the Lord has been speaking to me about passing a mantle, seeing the baton in the hand of the next generation who have honored the older and not only listened with a surrendered heart to be changed and purified but had obeyed in humility to make themselves ready. Love how the Lord opened it up to you. Honor and blessings, my brother, Sandi
