“Bring them into Encounter with Me!”
“As you bring in the “Harvest Nets”, Teach them to “Read My Word for Relationship”.”
New Believers and seasoned saints alike need to KNOW that The LORD will meet us personally in and by His WORD.
The Father has pressed this message into my heart over the past couple of weeks as I’m working with those “bringing in the Harvest Nets”.
He spoke to my heart,
“Teach My children to ‘Read My Word for Relationship’.
Bring them into Encounter with Me by My Holy Spirit, through the Living Activated Word!
The Holy Scriptures are your Life and Light.
As you draw near to Me through a heart of worship, anticipate that I will speak personally to your heart through the Word that I have sent.
I want each one of My children to have a deep personal experience of My presence, My leading, My truth and My love.
I want them to find their identity in Me, as My Beloved child… through My Living Word.
All of the revelation promises I have given in My Word are ‘Yes and Amen in Jesus’* for my children.”
(*see below for an understanding of this phrase from 2 Corinthians 1:20)
New Life in Christ and the Milk of the Word
I remember as a new Believer, it was the most glorious wonder to me that this Beloved Holy Spirit was speaking to my “heart thoughts” each day, and meeting me in constant ENCOUNTER with His presence through guidance in the Holy Word of God.
Daily I ate up the Word: The Gospel of John, Psalms, Proverbs and the Epistles, as well as the latter part of Isaiah were my steady spiritual diet.
The Holy Spirit affirmed to my heart and spirit early on that what was written beforehand was for me now, as a child of God.
I would ask, (according to Psalms 119:18, 33,34)
“Holy Spirit would you open the eyes of my heart to hear what You want to speak to me?”
Through this relational pursuit of scripture, I began to receive the life-changing counsel of Holy Spirit into my heart and inner man.
As I did so, my mind began to be quickly changed from a mindset of fear and hopelessness, into an identity built upon the solid promises and character of God… He began to replace my ‘orphan identity’ with that of a much-loved, cherished child of the Most High God.
I read from several Bible versions as Holy Spirit led me, the NKJV, the New Living Translation, which gave me clearer understanding than the New King James, and then, once I was a little seasoned in the Word, I loved the extended meaning found in the (AMPC) Amplified Bible.
“As new born babes desire the sincere milk of the Word so that they may GROW!”
…..Here, in three different translations is a passage that was very precious to me at the time, and is also very important for new Believers.
“as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby…” 1 Peter 2:2 NKJV.
“Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation” 1 Peter 2:2 AMPC.
“In the same way that nursing infants cry for milk, you must intensely crave the pure spiritual milk of God’s Word. For this “milk” will cause you to grow into maturity, fully nourished and strong for life…” 1 Peter 2:2 TPT.
Testimony: The power of The Word and the leading of The Holy Spirit
One of my first assignments as a young Believer, only “months old” in The LORD, was to save someone from suicide through the precise WORD sent through the leading of The Holy Spirit.
I didn’t know at the time that the inner nudge that I was feeling about the “weight and timing” of The Word that I was getting from The LORD would save someone from death.
It was just strongly impressed in my “heart thoughts” that it was extremely important to get this precise word to this person with five main points, as soon as I could pull the Word together and then find their mailing address.
I didn’t know the people, a dad and his daughter personally, so it took a bit of work to track down their information.
I only knew that they were friends of someone who had been praying for me to come to Christ.
My letter reached the single dad and his little girl the very night that he had set for his suicide.
Afterwards, I learned that he was a very meticulous and precise fellow, wanting everything to be in order for the neighbor taking care of his daughter, and so he felt compelled to open every bit of mail, including my letter to him, leaving nothing undone.
When he opened the letter he found the precise answers in the scriptures that I had been given by The Holy Spirit to five specific questions (unknown to me), that he had asked God, that were deeply troubling him.
Both the letter, and my address were anonymous, but I found out later from my friend, that it brought the young dad to his knees in weeping when he read the words that The Holy Spirit had given me for him, corroborating them with the written Word of God…
This miraculous, personal answer from Father God saved this man from premature death and brought him into an awareness of the personal love of CHRIST!
This young dad went from a religious, distant moral ascent of God into an ENCOUNTER with the LIVING GOD, and Father’s great love.
The “Word-alive” spoken to my heart by The Holy Spirit, was absolutely “an arrow to the mark” for the man’s need in that Hour.
This is the PRECISION POWER of the WORD of God in action. Coupled with our obedience to the leading of the precious Holy Spirit, the “Rhema” Word of God will always work LIFE and LIGHT performing that which Father has intended.
Rhema vs Logos
Logos:
Every word of God is inspired, and “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” (2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV).
Rhema:
“For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12 AMPC)
There are two Greek words used to describe different aspects of Scripture. The first is “logos” which refers to the the inspired and authoritative written Word of God.
The second word is “rhema”, meaning “utterance”, and refers to the spoken word of God that comes to individuals by The Holy Spirit to our “inner man.”
A rhema is often a verse or portion of Scripture that The Holy Spirit illuminates to us personally, highlighting it to our thoughts and heart with peace as a direction or specific word for a situation.
This “rhema” is the personal Word of God given to His children that is powerful and transformative, activating Faith within us in the promises of God for us.
The Living Word
Following The LORD in the Word is not about strict religious rule-keeping.
As a matter of fact the Word says that the letter kills but The Spirit gives LIFE…
The Word must be both received in our hearts, and given by the breath of The Holy Spirit in order to bring life.
“[It is God] Who has qualified us [making us to be fit and worthy and sufficient] as ministers and dispensers of a new covenant [of salvation through Christ], not [ministers] of the letter (of legally written code) but of the Spirit; for the code [of the Law] kills, but the [Holy] Spirit makes alive.” 2 Corinthians 3:6 AMPC.
The Word brings life… religious rules, and opinions of man alike, both bring death…
“Indeed, in view of this fact, what once had splendor [the glory of the Law in the face of Moses] has come to have no splendor at all, because of the overwhelming glory that exceeds and excels it [the glory of the Gospel in the face of Jesus Christ].
For if that which was but passing and fading away came with splendor, how much more must that which remains and is permanent abide in glory and splendor!
Since we have such [glorious] hope (such joyful and confident expectation), we speak very freely and openly and fearlessly.” 2 Corinthians 3:10-12 AMPC.
We are wonderfully transformed in our inner man through our steadfast pursuit of the Word being formed in our thinking and way of being, and our “Amen” agreement to this living Word of God.
“Yes, down to this [very] day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies upon their minds and hearts.
But whenever a person turns [in repentance] to The LORD, the veil is stripped off and taken away.
Now The LORD is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of The LORD is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).
And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of The LORD, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from The LORD [Who is] the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:15-18 AMPC.
Why the devil isn’t afraid of your Bible Reading
Excerpt from EW Kenyon teachings :-
*God’s “yes” and man’s “amen”
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” 2 Corinthians 1:20
In the Revised Version Bible, the text in this passage indicates that the Apostle Paul means two different and specific things by the ‘yes’ and the ‘amen’ …
“The ‘one’ is God’s voice, the other is man’s. The one has to do with the certainty of the divine revelation, the other has to do with the certitude of our faith in the revelation. When God speaks in Christ, He confirms everything that He has said before, (this is the ‘yes’, confirming His past revelations…) “When we listen to God speaking in Christ, our lips are, through Christ, opened to utter our assenting ‘Amen’ to His great promises… (giving) “a full and confident assent which men may give to that revelation that is set before us.” (Excerpt from Machlaren’s exposition, Bible Hub.)
