Can We Turn and Repent Daily? Do We Really Want to? — 8 Comments

  1. I used to think repent was such a negative word growing up. When I experienced true repentance in my early 30s (maybe not the first time, but a changing moment kinda time…over 10 years ago), I realized the JOY of repentance. Bitter until it’s sweet! John the Baptist was so pitied by many in high society. I see him as so blessed to be able to pave the way for the Way! The Elijah Spirit is an exciting Life when you get to be near the JOY of repentance for not only yourself but others’ repentance too! For too long repentance has carried the weight of death… but it belongs to the Living!

    • Thank you Karrie for your thoughtful comment.
I believe you said it all when you spoke,”For too long repentance has carried the weight of death… but it belongs to the Living!”
That is so true. If all Christians can learn and walk in this truth the Kingdom of God would be promoted.
If we truly would say, (like the song) not my brother or my sister, but it’s me oh Lord standing in the need of prayer (checking our own heart first for motives, etc.
Then we could see clearly to not leave in there, but then pull the mote out of our brothers eye.
      God bless you. Joyce

  2. In the way that ” ..the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” [Luke 17:5], I believe we can also pray to have repentant hearts, and I am sure the Lord will answer this prayer.

    • Absolutely Mark, and so good to hear from you! As I pondered your reply this morning, my mind went immediately to Gal. 5:22-15.
As we daily rise to start a new day, our Lord must be first.
He wants to work the fruits of the Spirit out in us. Look at first 25. “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
As we present our bodies a living sacrifice, daily and want to be shown our hearts by ‘repenting’, then we can truly walk in love.
I sure have ‘not arrived’ yet, but pressing toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Many blessings and peace in Christ Jesus.

  3. Alas..the Kingdom of God is at hand. Do we really understand that true repentance is a total change of heart and only God can change a heart? What a conundrum it is. We cannot even come to desire change or repentance unless the mercy and grace of God draws us. Much to ponder re: the spots, dear Joyce. I was thinking no we cannot change our character or beliefs unless God changes our hearts. A leopard is marked by His spots and we are marked by our Love, just saying. The spots are what we see and remember. What about us? What do people see and remember. Thanks for the food today, my friend. Love you, Sandi

    • Thank you my friend, Sandi for your input.
Also I thank God for the Holy connection of you in my life on this site, telephone, etc.
Everything you said was so deep, but to just pull this out: “We cannot even come to desire change or repentance unless the mercy and grace of God draws us”
Amen sis. Also about the leopard marked by his spots but us by our ‘love’.
Which brings me to another thought line Sandi.
What if the world does not see that love but division? May we all truly calling ourselves Christians learn to love and be love as a shining light to this confuses sick, dying world.
Love & appreciate you much. God bless you.

      • A GREAT BIG AMEN T that truth!
” May we all truly calling ourselves Christians learn to love and be love as a shining light to this confuses sick, dying world.
The Lord is truly making divine connects that we never knew. Isn’t it wonderful. I truly appreciate you and the expression of His love and appreciation He is releasing through those He is “FITTING TOGETHER” to celebrate our different gifts and call and allow them to be multiplied to destroy the spirit of division. Indeed, I bless you but He is smiling in heaven saying, send Her my love..Sandi xoxo

        • Ahh, Sandi I receive! Big smile.
The Fathers heart is love. Even His corrective hand’s motive is love.
Still the judgement side, is not to be taken lightly. So I know we balance and sometimes must give words of correction. Your recent note helped me a lot.. Later will share…
