Confession and Testimony
Confession time!
I always fought very shy of prayer meetings.
Right up until the past few years, but, even so, my liking for them hadn’t exactly increased exponentially!
Until, that is, we joined our present Church where they have a pre-meeting “Prayer Watch” every Sunday morning before the Service.
This has been an eye-opener for me.
I’d never heard such fervent, honest prayer.
Praying in tongues may be a bit controversial in some quarters, but it’s almost ‘de rigeur’ in our small group.
This brought a new meaning to the word intercession for me.
Yes, I confess, intercession was a bit boring, a bit monotonous, and, quite frankly, definitely not for me!
Until now!
I had never heard nor experienced the passion and depth of intercession such as I began to experience in our Prayer Watch!
So what changed?
My attitude for one.
My interest and my participation too!
I’ve always been a bit shy — oh yes, shy — and reluctant to speak publicly. I still am!
Yet recently The LORD had me pull together a group of Intercessors in order to ‘give the Ekklesia a voice’ that has been notably absent, especially during these past five years or so.
The prevalent view has been that Christians should not be involved in or give voice to politics!
The LORD revealed much to me regarding this serious error, which was part of the reason for starting the Intercessory Group.
So, last night, we convened a few people from the Group together on a Zoom call to begin interceding for our Nation.
We didn’t know what to expect or even if anyone would join us, so we were delighted when eight of us joined together to pray for The Nations.
The power of God manifested enough for someone outside the meeting to actually comment on it!
The allotted time, an hour, shot by so quickly, and the prayers offered rose as incense before The Throne of God.
Such was the reception of it that we immediately made it a weekly, when possible, event to which we hope many others will join.
It’s still in its infancy, but as The Word says, “despise not the day of small beginnings” (Zechariah 4:10)!
If you’re interested in joining us, search for the private Facebook Group UHOP and join us to get more details.
If you’re serious about praying for your nation, then we’d love for you to join us!
At the moment, we’re focused on The United Kingdom, but we have folk from all over the world joining us. Last night a lady from Australia was with us — so as we grow a bit, we’ll have meetings focused on other Nations too.
Intercession for The Nations is important to God, so it’s important to us too!
