Father, Have Mercy Upon Our Smallness
Prayer
Father,
Transform us, so that the desires of our hearts may all be aligned with Your Will, because we have understood that whenever we interfere with our own will and actions, time lengthens and circumstances worsen.
Because if we have left everything in Your hands, it is right that You should intervene and act in our behalf
Father, have great mercy on us still, because this flesh is hard to die to itself.
Cover us with Yourself.
Free us from our thoughts and our own will, keeping our gaze fixed on the “Things Above.”
Hold us close to You and do not let us go, even if we struggle, wriggling from Your mighty hand.
Father, how much longer must we wait for our flesh to be subjugated to us?
Guide us along this path because, as “before”… every time we lay our hands “on the Ark”, we cause harm.
Our spirit is ready, but this external “fleshly overcoat” wants to dictate its own law at all costs, which is completely at odds with Yours.
Now we understand when Jesus said it is better to enter the Kingdom of God maimed and blind than to lose it through our lust and lasciviousness.
Heavenly Father, You are our Abba, our Father, and if You have called us, You have a purpose not only for us but for those You can reach through us.
Have mercy on our smallness, but make us flaming torches that guide the abandoned, the desperate, and the frustrated of this life.
May the Word You have placed within us illuminate their path to You.
Source of Eternal Life.
Through Jesus, Our LORD and Christ we pray,
Amen.
He says,
“Be still, and know that I AM God; I will be exalted among The Nations, I will be exalted in the earth!” Psalm 46:10.
