There are times when you are unable to untangle or “figure out things” that other may accuse you of or presume to know about you. In those moments, know this.
God is faithful.
This world is forever looking for an edge to get ahead, to win the prize, to be “king of the hill” and on and on it goes.
Whenever there is a question about your heart or your words or motives, learn to take the high ground. Jesus did! He was maligned, accused of twisting the holy “Torah” and called a false prophet. Yet, he went about doing good.
I was just recently “stung” by a fellow believer who falsely accused me of doing something without directly contacting me. They instead, involved another lovely member in the body of Christ who lovingly “put me to the test.” I am thankful for the integrity and honesty this individual has.
What is high ground?
The choice to not accuse, the choice to remain steady under fire and, the choice to not seek revenge or retribution. Life is filled with misunderstandings, finger pointing, and tests.
At the end of the day, those who know you and your character will be able to clearly discern truth, error, and simple trip ups of the enemy that work to divide and separate families, friends, and kingdoms.
Let the Lord vindicate you.
Let him search the hearts of your accusers or those who trample your honor without knowing clear facts. He has walked it out in his own earthly experience and knows all too well the weak places in the hearts and minds of mankind.
“When the leading priests and the elders made their accusations against him…… Jesus remained silent,” Matthew 27:12.
It’s not about being “right.”
It’s about being confident and secure in the safety of God’s mighty Fatherhood. He will be sure to shield and shelter us from the accuser of the brethren.
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?” Romans 8:35.
