Heaven Within: Releasing God’s Power Through Us
Once a couple had a baby and the baby became sick and died.
The couple was devastated. However, the couple blamed God, although they were Christians.
They did not understand.
Ephesians 3 tell us that God will use His power through us.
“Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.” .Ephesians 3:20.
The power of God works in us. But the couple was expecting power to come from Heaven down towards the baby and not power coming from The Holy Spirit, through them, and to the baby.
So, the couple begged God for healing for the baby, but they did not do it correctly as they had a “heaven ——> down” expectation.
God gives us Power and Authority over sickness, as Jesus already paid for our healing on the cross. The power of God works through us.
The couple upset with God has to answer these questions:
- Why did the couple not command healing to the baby?
- Why did the couple not curse the sickness in the baby?
- Why did the couple not bring the baby to a group of people, like The Church, and have people put oil on the forehead of the baby and come into agreement and pray for healing?
- Why did the couple not ask for clarity and direction from The LORD about what to do and even ask for instructions to be revealed in their dreams?
- Why didn’t the couple fast?
- Why did the couple care more about what the doctor said than what God said?
Ephesians 3:20 says the power of God works in us and through us.
As I am writing this the Holy Spirit said to me: “I want My People to understand that I AM not doing bad things.
I AM not causing harm to My body of Christ.
I only do good things.
If you blame Me — then you do not know who your Father really is.”

Amen. However, the couple probably assumed that since God blessed them with a child in the first place that God would heal the child. This actually reminds me of Elijah and the Shunnamite Woman. She also questioned why God would give her a child and then take him back. Sometimes we can do all of the things that you mentioned and God will still take the child. King David comes to mind. My heart goes out to that couple.
