Holiness Unto The LORD
Decree and Declare Holiness Unto The LORD!
“Consecrate yourselves to Me, My People, for I AM about to perform Wonders in your midst!
I AM about to perform Wonders through you!
I have made you clean and fit for purpose. Go confidently but reverently about My Altar with clean hands and pure hearts.
I AM The LORD who makes you Holy!
My coming is soon and must be set on sure foundations that endure for generations!”
“In that day “HOLINESS TO THE LORD” shall be engraved on the bells of the horses. The pots in The LORD’s house shall be like the bowls before the altar.” Zechariah 14:20 (This is deliberately specific.)
“Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I AM The LORD your God. And you shall keep My statutes, and perform them: I AM The LORD who [b]sanctifies you.” Leviticus 20:7-8.
“He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 24:4.
“And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow The LORD will do wonders among you.”” Joshua 3:5.

Asbury University Hughes Auditorium
Above the organ pipes in Hughes Auditorium at Asbury University is the inscription “Holiness Unto The LORD“.
It was inspired by the Wesleyan Holiness Movement, but is taken from Zechariah 14 in the King James Version and was inspirational to many denominations present at the 2023 Asbury Outpouring.
Holiness is a feature of outpouring.
An encounter with God is an encounter with His Presence, with His most Holy Spirit.
When The Holy Spirit moves through, in and over us, we have a sense of His absolute purity and holiness.
Holiness is no longer a concept, a dry and dusty and withered thing to be read of in books but a living, vital experience.
All true outpourings are marked by this living experience of God’s utter Holiness.
When we experience God’s Holiness, it increases our awareness of our own sinfulness.
Don’t shy away from this — embrace it!
Repent of sin and yield to the purifying ministry of The Holy Spirit.
Some of the greatest work has been born from this conviction and the confession and contrition that come from it.
The problem is that outpourings have often petered out after that. It is only part of the story and cannot sustain a further move of God.
It is good to be reminded we have been sinners in need of rescuing yet it is no longer we but Christ who lives within us.
The Christian walk is along a tightrope where we hold in mind that we have sinned, and still sin after our Salvation, but sin is no longer our master.
Jesus is LORD and we are His Saints!
We are now God’s saved, healed children, co-heirs with Christ and partakers of His divine nature.
God’s Holiness is not a reproach to us!
The Holiness of God is not just a big measuring rule that, when inevitably we don’t meet His high standards, He then uses to beat us with.
God’s Law is never intended to be a burden. He doesn’t just give us some impossible rules we can’t live up to.
God’s Holiness is actually for our benefit. He is active on our behalf. His Holiness is our full Salvation.
The Greek word “sozo” often translated as “saved” and the Hebrew “shalom” often translated as “peace” both hold the fuller meaning of “complete wholeness”.
This is the purpose of our salvation.
Salvation is for Holiness unto God — but holiness is for the renewed heart and mind that leads to completely renewed lives.
God makes it happen!
We are renewed in Christ and given a completely new Identity.
His Presence enables us to walk before Him in righteousness and holiness and live Spirit-empowered lives, doing even greater works than His.
This is the greater part of the story. This is what we need to embrace in order to fully to sustain an ongoing move of God.
This Outpouring must be built to last.
