Intercessors, We Must Pray Regarding Courts and Judges
For months now it has been on my heart to Pray regarding the Gates of Justice and Judgment.
There are realms in Society that function like Gates, places where outcomes are decided, destinies are redirected, and either mercy or oppression is released.
In Scripture, the Gate was not merely a doorway. It was the place of counsel, rulership, and judgment.
It was where elders sat, cases were heard, contracts were sealed, and justice was expected to flow.
And because the Gate decides the direction of a people, the Gate becomes a battlefield.
This is why Prayer concerning Judges and Courts is not “politics.” It is Intercession for the moral and spiritual health of the land.
It is warfare for righteousness, protection for the innocent, restraint against corruption, and a cry for heaven’s verdict to override human perversion.
Wickedness instead of Justice
The Bible acknowledges a sobering reality: wickedness can sit where judgment should be.
Many believers struggle because they assume that “the place of judgment” will always function righteously. But Scripture does not pretend.
Ecclesiastes 3 lets us know.
“And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.” Ecclesiastes 3:16.
In other words, the system CAN be polluted.
The Bench can be compromised.
The Gate can be defiled. And when the Gate is defiled, it is not just one case that suffers the land suffers.
Corrupt Judgment
Corrupt judgment does not stay personal; it becomes systemic.
When justice is perverted, it becomes a message preached without words.
The wicked learn they are safe, the innocent learn they are disposable, the poor learn they are unheard and the vulnerable learn they are prey.
The prophet Isaiah describes what happens when truth cannot enter a system,
“And judgment is turned away backward… and equity cannot enter….” Isaiah 59:14.
That line is haunting, Equity cannot enter. It means fairness is blocked at the door. It is not merely discouraged, it is denied access.
The Throne of Iniquity uses “Law” as a weapon
This is where many people misunderstand spiritual warfare.
They imagine darkness only shows up in obvious ways violence, chaos, and open rebellion.
But Scripture exposes something more sophisticated mischief framed by Law.
“Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?” Psalm 94:20 KJV.
Brethren, there can be a literal “throne” (Authority Seat) that produces harm while still using legal language.
It is paperwork oppression, legalized injustice. It is mischief with a stamp and a seal.
That is why intercession must rise because some battles are not fought only in the streets, but in the gates. In the Decrees. In the Decisions.
God Takes Judicial Matters Personally
God takes judicial matters personally because judges represent Him in the earth
The Moat High does not distance Himself from justice. He identifies with it. He watches it. He weighs it.
“God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.” Psalm 82:1 KJV.
This is not mythology. The phrase points to rulers and authorities those exercising power.
Then He issues the charge.
“How long will ye judge unjustly… Defend the poor and fatherless… deliver the poor and needy.” Psalm 82:2-4 KJV.
So it is imperative that we pray for judges because heaven itself is engaged with what happens in judgment seats.
Unrighteous Decrees provoke the God of justice
Many don’t realize God does not only judge “personal sin,” — He judges policy sin systems and decrees that crush people.
“Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees… to turn aside the needy from judgment…” Isaiah 10:1-2 KJV.
This is why intercessors must pray because some oppression is not random. It is decreed. It is codified. It is made official — and God pronounces “woe” on it!
Prayers of the Righteous
Prayer is how the righteous bring the matter to the Highest Court.
When David cried, “Plead my cause,” he was invoking God as Advocate and Judge.
“Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me…” .Psalm 35:1 KJV.
Intercession is not gossip. It is not accusation. It is not rumor. It is not paranoia. It is taking the matter to the throne where no bribe can speak.
The Benevolent and Righteous Judge has power to turn hearts, expose hidden things, and restrain evil.
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD… he turneth it whithersoever he will.” Proverbs 21:1 KJV.
If God can turn kings, He can trouble consciences, restrain verdicts, expose bribery, disrupt intimidation, and raise righteous men and women inside systems that are otherwise compromised.
Some things are genuinely hidden, bribes, threats, unlawful networks, perversion of justice.
Scripture confirms the existence of hidden works of darkness, but it also calls us to pray with clean hands.
So we do not pretend omniscience.
Prayer
We pray principles and outcomes:
Father, expose whatever is hidden that harms the innocent…
Father, overturn unrighteous decrees…
Father, protect witnesses and victims…
Father, raise judges who fear You and hate covetousness.
Father, remove the unrepentant from seats they have defiled…
Father, let truth be established at the gate.
Scripture already promised:
“For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed…” Luke 12:2 KJV.
“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14 KJV.
“LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble… to judge the fatherless and the oppressed…”
God hears. And intercession becomes the agreement voice in the earth: “Do it, Lord. Arise. Vindicate. Defend.” Psalm 10:17-18 (KJV.
“Arise, O God, judge the earth…” Psalm 82:8 KJV.
Shalom
