Is It Possible to Agree to Disagree?
I have been writing a lot recently about Decreeing and Declaring to establish God’s Word for Victory and Turnaround.
The LORD has also given us a powerful weapon for Agreement — with the power of two.
““Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” Matthew 18:19.
I have come to a new revelation regarding Agreement that many regard as negative — but when we understand Agreement — when The LORD explains the depth of Agreement — it can be powerful to “Agree to Disagree” as well!
As I revisited The Power of Agreement, The LORD took me back to a teaching I have given many times, that He gave me regarding “agreeing to disagree“.
I realize that sounds impossible — but I will clarify what The LORD shared with me once.
It was an experience in which I had been in Agreement (or thought I was) but I was very disappointed when I discovered we were not in True Agreement.
The LORD has used that experience to give me a picture of what defines True Agreement.
He then began to teach me, there is a good alternative when there is not a heart-to-heart True Agreement on every point.
As we have been in an era of great chaos and confusion, I have noticed how rare True Agreement can be.
I have prayed diligently against the ‘double-mindedness’ that The LORD continues to point out to me in intercession.
I am so grateful for the understanding and revelation He has been giving me regarding double-mindedness and division. Double-mindedness can often be at the root of division.
Last night, as I was finishing a chapter on “Division and a Divided Heart” in my book, The LORD brought me back to a revelation He had given to me back in 2019 and which, not so long age, I also gave in a teaching during a Group Prayer call.
There is a deep need for Discernment, as well as understanding the power of Complete Agreement according to God’s Word.
It is so easy to fall in the trap of Division — which then opens the door wide for strife.
Not long ago, I spoke about the division and the lack of communication that has been going on in The Church, as well as the world. It has truly been a time of deep deception and the need for heart to heart communication is truly needed in this hour.
The LORD spoke to me in intercession recently, “Daughter, as you yield to My Spirit in Communication, true Unity shall flow in hearts.
The Holy Spirit moves in Healing and Agreement, when there is True Unity in the heart!”
As I pondered what The LORD spoke to me, I recalled a teaching that I had given a while back on “The One Thing that is needed when you are not in Agreement.”
It is important that you must agree to disagree. That is not double-minded. It is a display of true submission — first to God and then to others.
Then, as one of my former pastors taught, “Let God be the Umpire!”
The key to understanding this truth, is to understand what Agreement really means.
True, one-hundred percent Agreement, is Agreement to all that is being communicated: every line and every issue.
The LORD has taught me that “to agree to disagree” can be very powerful, especially in today’s upside-down culture.
If not in Total Agreement, the wisest choice is to agree to disagree.
When you exercise that choice, guard your heart against any judgment on what part you did not agree on, or see from the same viewpoint.
For example, if I am sharing a Word from The LORD — or even something in God’s Word — and the person (a believer or un-believer) does not ‘see it’ through God’s eyes — or have spiritual understanding from The LORD — I must be careful not to ‘point the finger’, be critical or judge.
If they are an unbeliever, I have learned to say, “You have made an interesting point..” (or whatever The LORD gives me) — but it is best not to say,”I understand”.
Many times in those situations, I might give an experience or example of my understanding.
However, I am very careful to listen to The LORD before sharing my understanding, because disagreement — many times — is a trap from the enemy for discord that opens the door to strife.
It is okay to disagree when one person has a different viewpoint, or when both of them have not gotten the same revelation. Just end the conversation — in peace!
After an experience of that nature, I go to my Prayer Closet and seek The LORD for complete clarification on my part, as I also pray for insight and understanding for the other person.
Remember this also: there is ‘somebody’ everyone will listen to, so I ask The LORD to send them to that person at the right time!
I have found that human reasoning (mindsets) is a huge blockage to spiritual insight and understanding.
The main thing is to just end the conversation in peace without judging.
There is great power in Agreement — but there is also great power in Agreeing to Disagree.
The key is understanding that everyone is different levels of their walk with The LORD.
A new believer cannot reach the Agreement on The Word of God as a seasoned believer.
So always, give great Grace and Understanding when you come to the place of Agreeing to Disagree!

Sandi, I will of course pray for the book as well! So thankful to God for continued healing today. May the Father fill you with his strength, peace, and joy today!
Thank you for this beautiful post Sandi. It is not easy to appreciate the real value of mercy and grace until you are on the receiving end of things. That is how Jesus would do it for sure
Good morning J, you are so welcome. As I read your comment of appreciation, I have to agree. Isn’t it awesome that our wonderful heavenly Father arranged it so that His MERCY is new every morning? He knew so well what we needed and He provided it ahead of time. Oh, the beauty of His grace that is always available to carry us forward! I just want to say with you yes and amen. Thank you, Jesus! Bless your grateful heart!!! Sandi
I just felt the beauty of the Father’s heart from your response, Sandi. Blessings of mercy and grace on you today
Thank you again, J, for your blessings of mercy and grace. I just had to jump on here and tell you the Lord gave me a miracle healing this morning. I was going back to the ER to a place an hour away (no help from 3 ER’s in my city) and I woke up with all the swelling gone in my feet. I have not been able to wear shoes for 3 weeks. I went on to the ER. Dr said you have a slight urinary infection but you have no blood clot and your feet are healed. A friend I met on this site and his wife have been fasting and praying for me for a miracle and they had called last night to tell me the Lord said I was healed. Then this morning it manifested. Yes, I am a blessed woman. It is my heart’s desire to carry His heart.Hope my heart book gets finished in the next 2 weeks. Many blessings and love to you, Sandi
Praise God! Now that I know I too will pray for your health, Dear Sandi. When I said I felt the beauty of the Father’s heart, I wasn’t just saying it. I felt it as a reflection as light bouncing off clear glass or mirror. It was beautiful. I so look forward to your book. Praying for complete and total healing for you ❤️
Dear J, I am forever grateful for your kind words. It is my heart’s desire for my prophetic call to be a mirror of His Heart. Thank you for praying. My feet are amazingly back to normal. And if you are praying for my book, please pray for my word processing software that has been giving me issues on my computer. That has been my major issue in finishing by Dec 2024 which was my goal! I have used three programs and back to Microsoft Word which is now totally different from when I used to use it. In His love, Sandi
This is absolutely the truth and even in my own family I have to be very careful because like you said it most definingly can cause strife and all our walks are different I have seers and feelers in my children and grands so we all may not agree on something and some our babies in their walk with Christ and some are not and I have learned to smile and say we make not agree on all things but lets agree to disagree and they say ok. Because what the Lord said is truth there has to be true unity in the heart and even in a world that there is most much hostility that I pray everyday for more discernment fine tune my discernment. Hugs Pam
Dear Pam, thanks so much for your confirmational experiences! These are the days of great trial..preparing the way of the Lord and righteousness being restored I watched a video today of Melania Trump that was trying to show her as weak and falling apart and I thought I am going to share this beautiful story with PAM..so this is the link on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMxyNn6lgjQ. When you have a few minutes, you will be blessed. The bottom line is we will never give up, give in or let the enemy win! Hugs back to you, Sandi
Yes I watched it and it was amazing. I think we’ve all have been there at some point in our lives and you summed it up perfectly, We will never give up, never give in or let the enemy win! It brought me to tears in the end and thank you so very much it really was a beautiful story. Hugs Pam
Amen, Pam, It is so good and powerful when we realize there is a price to pay but it is worth it all!! DJT and Melania have paid a big price. He literally has laid down his fortune, his life, no salary for God and His country. It is such a blessing to stand in the gap for the one God chose to take America back. Off to bed, hugs! Sandi
There you go again Sadi, it’s for me! I pray to always remember to say “you have made an interesting point.”
Thank you so much!
Blessings.
You are so welcome, Jennifer. I love that reply always! The Lord gave me that one night when I was struggling to communicate with a legalistic
narcissistic person. By definition: a person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves. “narcissists who think the world revolves around them”. I have learned that even if they love the Lord, they usually have a legalistic view of the word and they respond with a insistence to be right, no matter what. They are hearing through their mind and not their heart (spirit). So the Lord said, never engage in a debate with them…just say WOW, you have mae an interesting point..I never thought of that! Bless your day! Sandi
Agreed! Lol!
Amen! Love does not divide. It gathers and protects.
The younger may not have had the opportunity to apply every scripture to their current life situation.
The older are sometimes set in their ways, comfortable in a rut the Lord is trying to get them out of.
One Father, One Lord, One Spirit, All in One! One Word!
Yet we have Baptist, Methodist, Lutheran, Pentecostal…… on and on
HE WILL BUILD HIS CHURCH!
Amen!
Thank You Jesus!!!
Thank you Sandi!!
Marc
Dear Marc, What an Excellent comment full of truth on how the younger and older view things. And you nailed it, that is why we have Baptist, Methodist, etc. But bottom line is HE WILL BUILD HIS CHURCH. But the bottom line is: we must agree on One Father, One Lord, One Spirt! All in One. ONE Word. I find it so interesting how many versions we have of ONE BIBLE, how many interpretations we have! To God be the Glory. We give Him, HONOR and GLORY! Love and prayers to you and Tami, Sandi
Excellent teaching post. I’ve always believed there is power and wisdom, in the principle of “agreeing to disagree”. I look forward to reading your book.
God bless
Thank you very much, Janice. It is a principle we must follow lest we fall into judgment. I look forward to finishing my book. (SMILE BIG). Grateful girl, Sandi
