Know and Use the Whole Armour of GOD for Your Victory!
Put on and Take Up the Whole Armour of God for Triumph!
You’ve probably heard it before, or even had the ‘revelation’ yourself: The Sword of THE SPIRIT (which is The Word of God) is the offensive part of The Whole Armour of GOD; all other parts are defensive.
It’s a feel-good ‘revelation’ and logical explanation. But a very big error and destructive deception.
As I shared (via email) with a very dear sister and friend in America recently, the back tyres of your vehicle are not and cannot be of less importance and use in its mobility than the front tyres.
Without the back tyres the front tyres cannot move, and the vehicle is going no where.
The Whole Armour of GOD is like the back and front tyres of a vehicle. All are necessary for the vehicle to move.
We are to put on AND take up The WHOLE Armour of GOD, not just some of The Armour of GOD.
None of The Armour can be used without the others. They all work in tandem. That’s why we are to put on and take up The Whole Armour of GOD — all at the same time.
Does a soldier fighting in a fierce battle put on and use only one part/ or only some parts of his uniform and weapon?
He is fully dressed and equipped for battle! And has to FIGHT with all that he has at his disposal.
Much more, we must be fully dressed and equipped in our warfare at all times and FIGHT the enemy with The Whole Armour of GOD.
If The Helmet (The Hope of Salvation) is not put on always, one little demon can easily mess the believer’s mind.
This happened to John the Baptist.
Suddenly, he began doubting if JESUS was indeed THE CHRIST. Before long, his head was gone — LITERALLY, having not been covered with The Helmet of Salvation to continue in The Hope (1 Thessalonians 5:8).
There are many believers who no longer believe!
Continuing in hope attacks and destroys spirits of unbelief, doubt, discouragement and despair.
Likewise, without Faith, one cannot quench the flaming arrows of the wicked one, believe in The Sword of THE SPIRIT (The Word), let alone use It.
Without being girded with The Truth, you cannot fight with The Sword of THE SPIRIT which is The Word of Truth.
If The Breastplate of Righteousness is not used in the battle (having a pure heart, guarding your heart from bitterness, unforgiveness, selfish ambitions, jealousy, lusts and other sins), one’s heart is gravely exposed to attack and captivity by the enemy.
Many believers are captives of spirits of bitterness, unforgiveness, strife, sexual immorality, and other sins. And don’t want to be free.
As we are warned in The Word, give no place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).
Ephesians 6:12 says that we fight against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age and against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
And then v.13 says to take up The Whole Armour of GOD, that you may be able to withstand…
The Greek word translated “withstand”, is anthistémi: it means to “resist”, to “take a complete stand against” — the very same Word used in James 4:7, commanding us to “resist” the devil.
Resisting the devil is primarily offensive — aggressively attacking him. Thus, to put on and take up The Whole Armour of GOD is offensive. Indeed, doing so is both defensive and offensive.
That’s what we do with The Whole Armour of GOD (v.13). The Whole Armour of GOD is both defensive and offensive.
The Whole Armour of GOD is “The Weapons of our warfare” in 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.
Here, they are all used in offense (to attack):
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in GOD for:
- pulling down strongholds,
- casting down imaginations/ arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against The Knowledge of GOD,
- bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of CHRIST,
- and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (We punish the devil and his angels in our warfare against them. But we must first submit to GOD by knowing and doing only His Will; keeping His Word with The Help of THE HOLY SPIRIT).
Our mandate is to destroy and build — destroy the things of the devil, then build and plant The Things of GOD.
“See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10.
Undoubtedly, The Whole Armour of GOD is both defensive and offensive.
All the seven Parts of The Whole Armour of GOD is offensive in a way:
1. having girded your waist with Truth:
This is THE WORD (The Sword of THE SPIRIT); an offensive weapon!
We can only fight with The Sword of THE SPIRIT if we stand in The Truth, well grounded.
Eve was deceived by the serpent because she didn’t know The Truth, and didn’t stand on The Truth.
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in CHRIST.” 2 Corinthians 11:3.
Most believers don’t know The Word for themselves. And so, whatever any PROPHET or man of God says, they believe (without assessing it by THE WORD and THE SPIRIT).
As 1 Thessalonians 5:21 and 1 John 4:1 command us, “Test all things…” Yes, “test the spirits“.
We must be on the guard as our LORD commanded:
“Take heed that no one deceives you.” “Take heed that you not be deceived…” (Matthew 24:4; Luke 21:8).
2. having put on The Breastplate of Righteousness:
Apart from protecting our hearts (which is defensive), Righteousness resists and overthrows sin; this is offensive.
Righteousness attacks lawlessness, comparable with law enforcement fighting crime in a neighbourhood.
3. having shod your feet with the preparation of The Gospel of Peace:
What’s “The Gospel”?
THE WORD; Which is The Sword of THE SPIRIT. This is offensive.
In addition, deploying Peace literally attacks and shuts down the enemy and his operations.
This was veritably demonstrated by THE LORD Himself during the satanic, hindering storm when He commanded: “Peace, be still!” (Remember?)
Immediately, the principalities and powers causing the storm were immobilised and destroyed.
I use this very often in situations of storm (troubles, arising problems), declaring exactly what JESUS declared.
And I see the same result.
The same weather demons/ principalities and powers that caused the storm to trouble JESUS and His mission team on the water, cause tornadoes and hurricanes, etc. today, and do exactly the same thing with the storms of life: marital problems/ divorce, medical emergencies, financial problems, and other trials and tribulations.
The Peace of GOD is a mighty weapon that stops the enemy and protects us (Philippians 4:6-7).
Preaching The Gospel of Peace makes Satan fall! Hallelu-YAH!
This was dramatically demonstrated by the ministry of the seventy as JESUS testified (Luke 10:17-18).
4. above all, taking The Shield of Faith with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the wicked one:
Although a shield is protective/ defensive, when we use our Faith, when we believe GOD, It attacks the enemy’s attacks, utterly destroying them.
For example, when we use our Faith and healing takes place, the spirits causing the sickness and disease are literally attacked by The Power of GOD to LEAVE! And healing happens.
When we use our Faith in The Name of JESUS to cast out demons, it is offensive. We attack the enemy.
Faith quenches (ATTACKS) ALL the attacks of the enemy. This is offensive.
Our Faith is The Victory that has conquered the world of the enemy.
“For whatever is born of GOD overcomes the world. And this is The Victory that has overcome the world — our Faith.” 1 John 5:4.
The Greek word translated “overcome” in this Scripture is Strong’s Greek 3528: nikaó. It means “To conquer, to overcome, to prevail, to gain victory”.
Our Faith conquers Satan. Easily.
Hallelu-YAH!
Therefore, as JESUS said: “Do not be afraid; only believe.” (Mark 5:36).
Believe, pray and obey Him for your victory.
5. The Helmet of Salvation:
This, surely, is defensive (protective).
However, It is also very much offensive.
Salvation is a/ THE declaration of war against the devil. It is The Message of THE CROSS — yes, THE CROSS in Which and through Which the devil was and is destroyed (Colossians 2:13-15; Hebrews 2:14-15).
This is indisputably offensive. Most POWERFULLY so.
We overcome the great dragon, that serpent of old, called the devil and Satan, by THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB and by THE WORD of our Testimony — The Testimony of JESUS. (Revelation 12:11).
6. The Sword of THE SPIRIT:
Although the primary offensive weapon, It is also defensive (protective guarding and deterrent), as demonstrated in Genesis 3:24.
7. Prayer:
Prayer, the seventh Weapon of The Whole Armour of GOD is very much an offensive weapon in every way. For It is a means by which we deploy The Sword of THE SPIRIT.
When we pray, whether by supplications, intercessions, declarations, decrees or giving of thanks, we are literally attacking the enemy, because they are of devastating effect against him.
For example, interceding for someone’s Salvation amounts to attacking his captor (the devil) to free the one; to deliver him from the kingdom of Satan into The Kingdom of GOD.
It is by prayer that we cast out demons. This is explicitly attacking the enemy.
Daniel’s relentless prayers caused GOD to send Michael the archangel to fight the prince of Persia, enabling the courier angel to deliver to Daniel the answer to his prayer (Daniel 10:10-13).
When we utter HOLY SPIRIT-led decrees and declarations, speak in Tongues, or pray in any other way led by THE SPIRIT, they literally go forth as powerful Divine missiles that blast the enemy with great devastation which the US Military’s famed bunker-buster bomb can never achieve. NEVER!
“For The Weapons of our warfare are not carnal but MIGHTY through GOD…” (2 Corinthians 10:4-6).
Without controversy, we have been commanded to take up The Whole Armour to resist (withstand) in the evil day. Resisting the devil is playing offense.
My favourite part of play in American football is scoring a touchdown (especially by running).
When one scores a touchdown, it’s a loss to the opponent, as the scoring team gains the 6 points.
A touchdown is scored by running, passing, returning a kick-off or punt, and recovering a turnover. A team scores a touchdown by “advancing the football into the opponent’s end zone.” (Wikipedia).
So is taking up The Whole Armour of GOD.
When we take up The Whole Armour of GOD, we advance The Kingdom into the enemy’s “end zone”. And he suffers loss.
We take territory from him.
When we take up The Whole Armour of GOD, we score a touchdown against the enemy big time every time.
The Whole Armour of GOD is for both defence and offence.
Just a brotherly advice that, whatever teaching or revelation we receive, we must thoroughly weigh it/ assess it by THE WORD and THE SPIRIT, “rightly dividing THE WORD OF TRUTH.” (2 Timothy 2:15).
I highly consciously do this with every teaching, revelation and prophecy (by others and myself). You have to make sure what you are hearing is by THE HOLY SPIRIT.
There have been many occasions (when watching or listening to or reading a Message) that I spoke to audibly renounce and reject some parts of The Message by prominent men of GOD He told me to listen to.
We have to remove sticks from the hay, and never chew, let alone swallow them (the sticks).
I have myself on occasion jettisoned revelations coming to me when I soberly and thoroughly weighed it by “The Whole Counsel of GOD” (Acts 20:27).
The enemy always tries to sow seeds of error, which we must diligently guard against.
Not every revelation is from GOD. Indeed, not every teaching or prophesy is from GOD.
And even teachings and prophecies from GOD, the vessel being used by Him might get some parts wrong when receiving it. YOU have to discern and delete that which is not from GOD.
We are to put on The Whole Armour of GOD AND take up The Whole Armour of GOD at all times, in all things.
Again, The Whole Armour of GOD is for both defence and offence: to put on for protection, and to take up for attack.
No part of The Whole Armour of GOD is for defence only, or offence only.
All are for both.
We must put on The Whole Armour of GOD and take up The Whole Armour of GOD every moment of our breath.
Our protection and prosperity are in doing so.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Addison Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of JESUS CHRIST by The Will of GOD, according to The Promise of Life Which is in CHRIST JESUS, (2 Timothy 1:1).
Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire. My will is to do His Will.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves. And like Paul, I am “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, the disciple whom JESUS loves and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He [JESUS] became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.

Daniel wasn’t casting out devils. He was praying for an answer. There was a war in the Heavenlies. 21 day war. Gabriel sent for Michael to war against the prince of persia.
Then Gabriel was able to deliver the message of God. You dont hear much in the old testament about casting out devils. It wasn’t until the new testament when Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Thats why Jesus came. Please you have to know the word of God. You can very easily deceive people. If you go to pray a devil out.you very well may find yourself in trouble. If you dont know what your doing. Please leave casting out devils to those who do. In Jesus name.
Daniel prayed, disqualifying the enemy.
Old testament. The new covenant of God or the new testament. Jesus said that by his name we will cast out devils. But that kind don’t come out but by fasting and prayer. Nowhere in the new testament does it tell us to pray the devil out. Only by the name of Jesus.
I have never cast out devils by praying, but you better be prayed up to do so. I always cast out devils by the name of Jesus. Please show me where it said in the new testament where they prayed the devil out. I dont believe you will find that. Dont confuse the old testament ways with the new testament ways. The name of Jesus was. Not available to use in the old testament. But it sure is available to use in the new testament. And we better know how to use it. Look at the sons of sceeba.
Praise God, in Jesus Christ, our Blessed Savior and Hope! God bless you, brother Jacob! This is a very powerful post. Sometimes we need a strong reminder that we should always be suited up in the entire armor of God.
Not half suited, but fully suited in the armor of God. I will meditate on this throughout the day, especially when the enemy comes like a flood – he desires for us to be partially or not suited at all in the armor of God.
Thank you for sharing for what the Lord has placed heavy on your heart to share with the masses. It makes the great difference in the intense battle of spiritual
warfare. Peace, love and blessings, to you, to your family.
