Messiah Yeshua Proclaimed the Kingdom View
The Kingdom view proclaimed by Messiah Yeshua was The Gospel of The Kingdom, including signs and wonders.
Messiah Jesus proclaimed it for 3 years after He was baptized in The Spirit.
Messiah Yeshua Baptized in the Spirit (Mark 1:9-11; Luke 3:21-22; John 1:29-34)
“Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John would have hindered him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffereth him. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway from the water: and lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming upon him; and lo, a voice out of the heavens, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:13-17 WMB
Three years after Messiah began proclaiming The Gospel of The Kingdom, on the afternoon of Passover, Messiah Jesus shed His blood on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins.
God resurrected Him on The Third Day. Jesus taught His apostles more about God’s Kingdom for 40 days before He was received up from the earth. About 10 days later, on the day of Pentecost, God poured out The Holy Spirit.
Luke gives us this account.
“1The first account I composed, Theophilus, about all that Jesus began to do and teach, until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen. To these He also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of things regarding the kingdom of God. Gathering them together, He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, “Which,” He said, “you heard of from Me; for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.
So, when they had come together, they began asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time that You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” But He said to them,
“It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority; 8but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.”
Then Jesus ascended into heaven
9And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were watching, and a cloud took Him up, out of their sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was going, then behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them, and they said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.”
The Upper Room
12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the ]mountain called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. When they had entered the city, they went up to the upstairs room where they were staying, that is, Peter, John, James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon the Zealot, and Judas the son of James. All these were continually devoting themselves with one mind to prayer, along with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
At this time Peter stood up among the brothers and sisters (a group of about 120 people was there together.” Acts 1:1-15 NASB
Pentecost
1When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.” Acts 2:1-4 NASB
The Kingdom View
As we adopt and apply ‘The Kingdom View’ Jesus taught, He establishes us in Kingdom Relationships that fulfill our deepest longings to be useful and productive in the noble things of eternal importance in our day-to-day lives.
The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus as Savior and King, opens our hearts to The Word, pours God’s love into our hearts and helps us see, walk and work in The Kingdom Jesus inaugurated while on earth and rules over from the Jerusalem above.
Kingdom Relationships fulfill us. They are exemplified in family relationships and motivate us to love one another. God in Christ shares His life with us so we can share it with God, one another, the hurting, and God’s creation. By His power, He will help us do every good thing we decide to do.
With the kingdom view, rather than “getting saved” and just hanging on until we die, we come to “God’s throne of grace to get mercy and find grace to help us when we need it” (Hebrews 4:14-16).
We look to our future eternal life when God and the Lamb upon the Throne will dwell with us on His renewed earth in the kingdom to come (Revelation 21).
Paul revealed that to the saints in Colossiae and us in a powerful prayer for them and us.
Love for the holy ones
“3We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, praying always for you, having heard of your faith in Messiah Yeshua and of the love which you have toward all the holy ones, because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth, even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Messiah on your‡ behalf, who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
God translated us into The Kingdom of the Son of His Love
9For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the holy ones in light, who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love, in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins.” Colossians 1:3-14 WMB
Like the Colossians, we live as working parts of the body of Christ in The Kingdom of the Son.
Each of us can get to know God better, grow up, and follow Messiah Jesus as our LORD and King as citizen priests in The Kingdom. That is the Kingdom View.
