My Life For Yours!
“My Yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
As a man on the earth I kept My eyes on My Father. I did as He did. My focus was on Heaven, not on earth. (John 5:19-20)
Fix your eyes on Me now. (Hebrews 12:2)
I AM not an abuser from your childhood or marriage.
I AM not a vindictive manager from your work or a spiteful elder from a godless Church.
I do not give you nasty, pettifogging rules in order to watch you fail to live up to them and squirm in pain.
Suffering is part of human life, because of the fall in Eden, but I take no delight in it.
If you saw that in a human parent or guardian you would rightly call it abuse.
Why then do you allow yourself to attribute wickedness to Me? I came that you might have life!
I AM the source of all goodness. (Mark 10:18, Romans 12:2, 1 Timothy 4:4, James 1:17)
If I tell you to be Holy as I AM Holy — it is possible! (1 Peter 1:15-16)
If I tell you to love others as I Love you — it is possible! ( John 13:34, 15:9)
If I tell you to be compassionate — it is possible! (Colossians 3:12)
If I tell you to be bold and have courage — it is possible!
Anything I tell you to do is possible when you look to Me to enable you to do it.
Let Me take you by the hand and lead you through just one Commandment.
If I tell you to forgive unconditionally without thought of recompense — it is possible! (Colossians 3:13)
I tell you to forgive others — because I have forgiven you. (Matthew 18:21-35)
Apart from Me, every human has sinned and fallen short of My Glory. (Romans 3:23)
Some of My pain on the Cross was caused by you. Yes, you!
However much you have suffered, and some of you have suffered so very much, you have all sinned in some way and I bore all your sin in My suffering. (Ephesians 2:1-9, Luke 7:47)
It is not a burden for you to forgive others. Unforgiveness is a poison. It does nothing to the one who sinned against you and eats away at you instead.
Letting go of offence releases you to live fully for Me.
I foretold I would be killed (Mark 8:31-32) but I wept for the same Jerusalem that called for My death (Matthew 23:7).
I washed the feet of my twelve disciples, including Judas, who I knew had betrayed Me. (John 13:4-15)
I prayed for My disciples, My dear friends who I knew full well would soon desert Me and deny any connection with Me. (Luke 22:31-32)
As I suffered in pain on the Cross, I forgave those who mocked, tortured and killed Me. (Luke 23:34)
In the midst of my suffering I even thought to take care of My earthly mother Mary and disciple John. (John 19:25-27).
At the time I was going through suffering that was physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. (Matthew 27:27-44).
My agony was far beyond anything any of you will ever know. You freely use the metaphor “hell on earth” to cover anything from genocide to queueing in traffic.
Unlike any of you, I knew what it was to bear the burden and punishment of every sin there has ever been.
I, who came from God and was absolutely without sin, experienced being utterly without God. (Matthew 27:46)
Even the most wicked among you have no idea what it is like to live completely without God on this earth, because I intervene daily in your lives. (Hebrews 7:25)
Not one of my followers or family stood by Me when I faced My accusers.
All the same, I forgave everyone then, and I forgive all of you now, without thought of retribution.
I make it possible for ordinary people to forgive, even though you are not the incarnate Word of God.
Stephen forgave his killers even as they stoned him. (Acts 7:60)
Paul forgave those who deserted him. (2 Timothy 4:16) See? It can be done!
It is possible for you to forgive too, because you have been forgiven and I give you My Spirit within you. (2 Timothy 1:14, Romans 8:11)
This does not mean those who abuse cannot or should not be held to account. Wickedness will be exposed and punished, in the next life and often in this. (Malachi 4:1)
But look to Me first for vindication, for justice, for healing and for guidance. I will show you what to do. (Psalm 34:4)
I AM The LORD your recompense (Isaiah 40:10).
Stay your mind on Me. Vengeance is Mine, not yours, and I deliver it rightly (Deuteronomy 32:35, Romans 12:19).
I give you beauty for ashes. (Isaiah 63:3)
I’ll show you how completely I forgive. John was zealous for Me and wanted to call down fire on people who did not know Me. (Luke 9:54)
He leaned against Me as we ate together. Peter, the rock on which I founded My church, was equally hot-headed and outspoken for Me.
They both saw My glory on the mountain. They both knew Me as the Messiah who was foretold for centuries.
Yet for all that they both fled and abandoned Me, just like the others.
Paul persecuted My followers thinking he was righteous and traveled far and wide pursuing his warped sense of justice. He approved of the stoning of Stephen.
They all repented and returned to Me. They were very flawed and, being human, they remained a little flawed, but they also remained loyal to Me.
I took them back into My service. They grew in grace and knowledge of Me for the rest of their days on earth.
Many generations on, you are the fruit of that “recommissioning” and “reignition” of My earliest disciples.
Every one of My Commandments is both a statement of who I AM and a promise of what I give to you.
Love, joy, humility, strength, grace empowerment, peace, faithfulness, wisdom….
This is Who I AM.
It is the model of what you can do if you abide in Me.
I set you an example of how to live. (John 13:15)
I offer you new birth into a living hope. (1 Peter 1:3)
If you submit to My Lordship and obey Me, this is what you have the strength and courage and faithfulness to do (Philippians 2:13, 2 Corinthians 9:8)
It is possible for you because I make it possible. (Mark 9:23) It is who you are as My child.
I have work for you to do (Ephesians 2:10) but you are not ready for it. Your earthly attitudes of ‘I can’t do it! I won’t do it! You ask too much! I am too old! I am too young! I am too tired! It is too late! It is too soon!’ prevent you from moving forward in the Kingdom Authority I delegate to you. (Luke 10:19)
Give Me your pain, your suffering, your questions, your weakness, your weariness, your doubt, your fears, your worries. Your obedience and faith in Me is all that is required.
For you this is a very big leap into the unknown. It is difficult because trust has been broken so much that at times you find it hard to go on living, not just to trust Me.
I know this. I understand better than any human just how much it costs. But you will realise it is a very little thing for Me to ask and a very small price for you to pay once you fully understand what I give you in return.
I give you Myself. (John 5:31).
My life is in you. (John 8:21,26)
This is an astonishing privilege. I AM God! I AM greater than any gift you can imagine.
Complete surrender to Me opens up a whole realm of blessings and possibilities beyond your imagination. (Ephesians 3:20)
Remain in Me and I will remain in you. (John 15:4)
All of My commandments become possible in Me. Nothing is impossible for Me. (Matthew 17:20, Luke 1:37)
I do not ask you to do anything I have not already done. (John 13:15)
I do not ask you to face anything I have not already faced. (Hebrews 4:15)
I do not lead you anywhere I have not already been. (Deuteronomy 31:8)
You will never be where My presence is not. (Psalm 139:7-10)
I AM always with you. (Matthew 28:20)
My way is never burdensome. Those I set free are really and truly free. Forever. (John 8:36). My life is in them. I will never leave them. (John 14:18)
I will never leave you, beloved one. (Deuteronomy 31:6)
Set Me always before you (Psalm 16:8).
Focus on Me, instead of what’s wrong. (Colossians 3:1-4)
Give Me your full attention. Give Me your obedience (Deuteronomy 12:28).
Give Me your trust. (2 Samuel 7:28)
I gave My life for you then. (John 3:16)
I offer you My life within you now. (1 John 4:15-16)
Let Me be your life!
For The LORD is your life.” (Deuteronomy 30:20)
