Once Tasted and Ate in the Presence of God
I recently read a post, which said: “Leaving the ninety-nine to chase one seems illogical and meaningless, until the day that lost sheep is you!”
Brothers and sisters, today it’s easy to lose our way and stray from the purpose and calling that God has given us.
Unfortunately, we live in very, very difficult times in which, if our foundations are not in Jesus Christ, it’s easy for everything to crumble around us.
You see, today there are many prodigal sons who live in an illusion of freedom that leads them to live dangerously and in sin.
Many of them, caught up in the euphoria of the moment, even manage to justify the path that they have chosen for their lives, but let’s remember that our justifications are nothing but filthy rags before our God. (Isaiah 64:6, Romans 3:19-23)
Have you ever wondered who are those to whom Jesus will say, “Depart from me, you workers of iniquity”? (Matthew 7:23)
They are precisely those who have striven to do God’s Will and even succeed performing miracles, but their conduct is not aligned with the heart of our precious Lord.
Have you ever heard people say “Glory to God,” “Thank God,” but deep down you felt a stab in your heart? These are those who live according to the world but have the name of God on their lips.
Let us pray for these people, because they once tasted and ate in the presence of God.
Then they allowed themselves to be ensnared by Satan and became his minions, his subjects, but they are firmly convinced they are above reproach.
They forget that Light and darkness cannot coexist.
The parable of the prodigal son shows us how vanity and arrogance of this life cloud our decisions.
But let us not forget that Jesus came for the lost, those who have been kidnapped by an enemy whose primary intent is to destroy all those called to active service.
Let us unite with the heart of the Father who wants them back home with Him and Let’s not act like the elder brother.
We must cooperate with the Father for their return to His House. Many do not understand the Father’s torment and pain at knowing that his son was far away.
He prayed constantly for his son to return home. Unfortunately, few feel God’s pain for his prodigals… unless they have one of them.
On returning home their testimony will have a significant impact on those who are seeking God, because their testimony will be painful and true.
Let us pray, let us stand on the gap for these brothers and sisters, because God has worked, is working, and will continue to work.
God’s timing also depends on us, because if we believe firmly and seek the Lord fervently on their behalf, we will see the works come forth that Father God has already established in His will.
Today Jesus is asking all of us, “Do you believe this?”
Stand in the gap on their behalf. Believe.
Prayer
Merciful and Holy Father, You who sent Jesus to recover the lost of the House of Israel, hear the cry that still rises today from those who fully understand Your heart for those who once sat before You.
Lord, have mercy on all of them; they have been ensnared and diverted from contemplating the true God in exchange for a trivial plate of lentils.
Father, they have turned their gaze from what is Eternal and turned it to what is temporary and fleeting.
How many of Your children have turned their backs on You, but You in Your magnanimity continue to rain down on the just and the unjust.
Father, we cry out aloud today to the Throne of Your Grace because we fully understand Your pain and we beg You, “Bring them home.”
Yes, Father, bring the prisoners home.
You Lord Jesus, Who enter through “locked doors”, enter once again into the hearts of these lost ones.
Father, If they will only humble themselves and cry out to You, then they will truly experience Your Fathering love.
You will bring the captives home, give them new garments a new name, and a place at Your Table, as they respond to Your Fathering love.
Work miracles again in the lives of these people. Their testimony will be so powerful, being themselves embers escaped from the fire. May they emerge victorious by Your Infinite Grace.
Father, we thank You because as we BELIEVE, we will see Your Hand at work in this time of unrest and uncertainty; our gaze is upon You from where we will receive the help we need.
Thank you in the Powerful and Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.
