“The School for Scandal“ is a play written in 1777 by Richard Brinsley Sheridan.

I only mention it, because it sprang to mind when I was seeking The LORD for a Word today.

I knew in my spirit that The LORD had something to say today.

“”School for Scandal”, that’s an odd expression, LORD! Can you tell me more, please?”

The next thing that came to me was this, “Britain’s Parliament is a School for Scandal!

It has been for many years, maybe centuries. It takes new Members of Parliament (MPs) in — and then schools them in corruption!

Old MPs who have served a few years understand the system and join in!

Not all who pass through the portals and corridors of power are corrupt, but enough, a majority, succumb to the privileges and profits of being in the ‘club’, as it were!

Politics, when revealed, are indeed a “School for Scandal,” in that many MPs end up as career politicians and, by so doing, enjoy a lifetime of living in luxury off the public purse!

The time has come for serious changes — term limits for a start, and a much smaller pension — enough to say thank you for serving but not enough that they never have to work again — if ever some of them ever worked at a real job!”

I was fascinated by this.

As we say here in Britain, this was ‘right up my street’!

I had to check myself and my own motives and agenda here as this kind of talk was a symphony of music to my ears.

Sick as I am, and many others are, of the revelations of corruption throughout the public service and political sectors, I had to be certain that I wasn’t hearing what I wanted to hear.

The LORD seemed to reassure me that I wasn’t hearing what I wanted to hear — but that I was hearing Him and not imagining it at all!

I wanted to weep as He showed me more and more corruption being revealed in the various United Kingdom government institutions.

Then He said, “I AM raising up a British ‘Cyrus’ who will bring revelation and integrity back into politics in Britain.

I AM raising one who will not be bullied and silenced by the establishment.

One who will restore a semblance of belief to the government of the people by the people.

I will have time or term limits for any would be politician to consider before they dive in to the political pool.

These term limits will also apply to the bureaucrats, the unelected men and women of the civil service — in much the same way as you shall soon see in America!”

My mind went once again to Liz Truss . . . The LORD said nothing.

The LORD then led me to this scripture,

“For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.” Ecclesiastes 12:14.

In Britain — as in America it seems.

I believe this is the Word of The LORD for today.
