Sojourners
You know, we’re just sojourners in this life that we walk out each and every day.
The houses and the places that we stay and live in are but temporary. They provide us with shelter and a place to call our own for a while.
One gets quite familiar with every piece of wood and window sill. The walls cast their shadows and the water spots and stains on the kitchen counters become an everyday occurrence that we notice every day.
Each and every place I’ve ever called home became a part of me. It has filled up my memories of childhood, marriage, single life, and loss. And yet again, they are just places, made up of the materials of this earth.
But the laughter and the sorrow make it a home. The love shared along with the quarrels, give it life.
A home a place of residence, gives one a sense of security and belonging. But even the best of homes that is filled with love and laughter can’t fill the empty void that many of us long for.
Our spirits can only be held in the hands of the Almighty. Our restlessness and disquiet, can only find solace in Him.
And so as we eventually leave yet another place, a home, it will drift off into the memories that were shared there. Life is always moving forward, and time as it is said, ‘Waits for no one.’
Our eternal home, not housed in the clouds up above, but created by the hands of the Almighty Himself, awaits us.
Those foundations are made up of a beauty beyond comparison, as each stone’s color and material, is intrinsically carved into each of them.
For what home on earth could ever boast of emeralds, sapphires, diamonds, or amethyst?
What gates of any city could ever say that each one of them was made-up of a single pearl?
What city or place, would have a river going through the middle of it with a tree on either side that was for the healing of the nations?
Where could one ever find a place that was devoid of darkness, and eternal light spread throughout all the land?
And so, as He goes to prepare a place for you and I my contentment is not confined to a single dwelling place upon this earth. Even though a melancholy comes over me at times, it doesn’t last forever.
We can’t hold onto each and every moment that passes, for life is to be lived and we are not granted a pause or stop button.
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,” Revelation 21:3.
The dwelling of God is with men, and not that our dwelling is made up of living necessarily in community, but that dwelling takes place “within men; within us.”

Stephen Hanson of In His Truth Ministries came to the LORD is a special way in 1975 and has prophesied regularly since. In these end-time birthing pangs we are reminded that judgment must first begin with the household of God. Will we be prepared and ready?
So true.
