The Church, Education, and the Forgotten Poor

One of the greatest disservices the modern Church has done to society is turning education into a status symbol rather than a mission.
Many Churches today establish schools, but instead of being centers of hope for the underprivileged, they become businesses that only the wealthy can afford.
The same Church that preaches love, compassion, and service to humanity often closes its doors to the children of struggling families who cannot pay exorbitant school fees.
This is not the heart of Christ.
If we truly believe in the transformative power of the Gospel, then we must also believe in the power of education to lift families out of generational poverty.
The early missionaries who brought the Gospel to Africa did not charge a fortune to educate our fathers.
They saw education as a tool for liberation, not exploitation.
What happened to that spirit?
A Noble Dream
I have a dream — a vision that burns in my heart.
One day, Out of the Desert Ministry will build a tuition-free school where children from all religious backgrounds can receive quality education without worrying about fees.
A school where knowledge is not for sale, and where the love of Christ is demonstrated in action, not just in words.
We must return to the true essence of ministry — serving humanity without strings attached. Until the church can educate the poor without turning it into a business, we have not fully understood the mission of Christ.
The question is, will we continue to ignore this injustice, or will we rise to make a difference?

Your statement is so profound Pastor The church has lost the true essence of Christianity. It is not about profits it is about love to all God’s people whether they are poor.I am with you in your dream
Pastor Cyril, I love your dream, it is beautiful! God is at the heart of your dream for the children. God bless your beautiful soul.
So true dear brother, I join myself to your dream. I know God`s heart for the poor, even their children. We need to do social justice to the poor, God will provide.
