Many are confused. They are confused because of a lack of Teaching.
“My people are destroyed because of a lack of Knowledge…..” Hosea 4:6a.
That’s what Hosea said, so this is not the first time this problem has arisen.
I think it’s been a long time since that office, the Teacher, has been recognized for what it truly is, at least in many places.
Teaching Sunday School is indeed part of that gift, and it is a gift, but teaching is to be done to the entire body and not just something pre-printed and dated once a week. Not feeding the Flock!
This, is what the scripture said about shepherds that do not feed His flock, not giving his precious lambs the balanced diet they needed and deserved.
This is not a Bible Study. I only want to clear up some ideas since I brought up the subject. Nothing here reflects any criticism whatsoever on anyone. I only wish to encourage you to know more. There is so much more.
The proper name is the gift of “Discerning of Spirits.” It is exactly what it implies. To know spirits. All spirits.
It is not “the gift of discernment.” Every true child of God, those filled with His Spirit can “discern” both good and bad. It comes with the gift of the Holy Ghost.
My friends commented on this status and I love you for what you added. To see what the Spirit actually sees is no light thing.
It is true that it is not for open knowledge to be shared with everyone. One good reason for that is that many people wouldn’t believe it anyway, because they can’t see it.
There are times when the Spirit will instruct you to speak that word to someone, but don’t expect that person, whether they be leadership or laity, to always love you for it.
Yes, if you tell them something nice, they will love you — but it’s not always nice.
If in fact you speak too openly, you will for sure bring wrath upon yourself and be accused of trying to destroy other peoples ministry etc.
I urge you, never forget that most others do not see what you see. Why? Many folks are not at all what they appear to be, whomever they are. Some who appear so spiritual, leadership included, may be the biggest hindrance in that Church.
I am urged to shorten this. The Gifts are Tools. Their utmost purpose is to allow the Spirit to do the work He wants to do.
They are not natural gifts. They are indeed supernatural. This gift we are talking about can guide you around the operation of any service for example or in knowing or dealing with those who hinder His work, anywhere.
The enemy cannot follow the leadership of the Spirit but, you see, we can. This same gift can help you see the good in someone that others do not see and help you to lead them into a deeper and closer walk with The LORD.
One last thought….. You cannot always blast out and rail out against something you feel is not of God or even know is not of God, in the manner we have seen in the past.
Remember tender plants, innocent or unknowing saints or family, may be involved and if you rip that weed out, you can pull up other things that need a chance to grow.
God will send angels to remove the tares at the time of harvest. But it doesn’t mean we can’t see and know what’s going on before then.
And yes, it is also true that some of us were gifted from childhood. Many forget that some of us received the Holy Spirit when we were very young. And some of us were called from our mother’s womb.
We were told to seek spiritual gifts and many of us did. Many of us had these things working in us long before we knew it. We are always a work in progress. The Spirit teaches us.
It is true that many would have developed deeper and more powerful experiences and we would be much further along in this apostolic renewal and revival had we been encouraged and allowed to “exercise” what God had given us.
Not for power or position or inflated self — but to accomplish the dynamic work He attended all along.
Thank you sincerely for allowing me to share some things that were once shared with me……. Amen!
