SCOFFER : Strong’s Greek 1703: A mocker, scoffer. From empaizo; a derider, i.e. a false teacher.
One who mocks Jesus Christ, ridicules the things of God, and opposes the gospel. One who denies the truths of Scripture and entices others to go along with his error. Scoffers have been present since the Garden of Eden. Satan’s first temptation of man was in the form of scoffing at God’s command: “Hath God said?” Scoffers point out the lapse of time and mock those who still wait and yearn for His appearing.
