WARNING: If You Fast For Weight Loss You Are Cursed And Cut Down! — 10 Comments

  1. There are different types of fastings and reasons for. Fasting is the act of voluntarily abstaining from food and sometimes other substances/things for a defined period, either for religious, spiritual, medical, or health-related reasons. If God is asking you to fast, it’s for his divine purposes.

    God bless

  2. After reading this: Holy Spirit reminded me of the TRUE FAST in Isaiah 58: 6-11-where God asks, “Is not this THE ‘FAST that I have chosen: to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?”. This true fast involves acts of compassion like sharing food with the hungry, providing for the poor and homeless, clothing the naked, and stopping oppression and malicious talk.”‼️☝ Lord Jesus, Please Speak to our Hearts re: FASTING❣️

  3. I have to say a few things come to mind.

    1. Fasting means nothing within itself, if it did the pharisees would have been the holiest. It serves as a vehicle to increase our capacity to give ourself to God deeper. It allows us to put our flesh in check to focus.

    2. Second, Fasting isn’t limited to food. Isaiah 58 God made clear that fasting he honored was to serve others and love them. So, it’s not limited to food. It can be tv, phone, things, whatever that you can turn away thats valuable to give your devotion and time to God.

    3. Not all Fasting is spiritual. Sometimes I fast after eating too much cake at bday party day before to let my digestive system rest. Most times I don’t eat breakfast until 12pm bc it feels great

Point being, we should be careful not to quickly call something defiled thats not.

  4. I am confused.  How is “Temple Maintenance” a bad thing?  I hope the Lord will clarify this for me, because fasting is literally the only thing that has helped me reverse insulin resistance.  I will say I have made a separation in prayer between fasting for Temple Maintenance and fasting as a way to to deny the flesh and seek the Lord’s will.  Is there a second witness to this prophetic word?  I do not wish to violate the Lord’s holiness.

    • Dear Rsg

Fasting is not abstinence from food. It is abstaining from food so as to fervently seek GOD (in prayer, THE WORD, etc.).

Therefore, if one chooses not to eat food for other reasons (not sinful, of course), it is not fasting. Just as being immersed in a body of water for recreational purposes is not baptism. Nor does eating bread with red grape juice for a quick lunch amount to taking The Communion.

Fasting is a specific Spiritual exercise by man before GOD as commanded by Him.
It is holy. It cannot and must not be profaned either in nomenclature or practice.

Some even claim to “fast” TV, social media, chocolate and other indulgences they shouldn’t idolise in the first place. It is profane and perverted to think and claim so as fasting.

Fasting, in The Bible, is abstaining from food to pray and seek GOD. Not just food abstinence.

A witness to this Word? Ask THE HOLY SPIRIT (without prejudice) for confirmation. He Who gave me The Word will confirm It.

When the Pharisees and other Jews doubted and rejected JESUS and The Word of God through Him, He cited The Witness of GOD for confirmation.

I recommend you to The Witness of GOD in everything.

“If we receive the witness of men, The Witness of God is greater…” 1 John 5:9.

In JESUS’ NAME, I pray The Power of The Indestructible Life (Heb. 7:16) into your body to remove and destroy insulin resistance and other health problems. Amen!

Believe and receive your healing right now!

The Grace of our LORD JESUS CHRIST be with you. Amen.

    • I agree, I also have been feeling confused about this. Intermittent fasting has proven to be a healthy practice for me, and I’ve not considered it as a spiritual fast. That would be a separate thing. So is it the word that is wrong?

    • I agree with you, Rsg.  Intermittent “fasting” is a way of regaining good health, basically resetting your body to heal itself instead of having to work hard at digesting food so much.  Our ancestors ate only a portion of what a lot of us eat today, and did not “snack” as we do, almost from the time we get up until the time we go to bed.

By withholding food from late afternoon until morning of the next day, our bodies are given the chance to reset, including fighting insulin resistance, yes.  The term “fasting” in this instance is the same as “dieting” or “abstaining” from food.  It is not a religious exercise in any way, and should not be confused with biblical ” fasting”, which is something altogether different, sacred, and holy.
