We Earnestly Pray For Our Enemies
May Sin Be Denounced by Love
Good morning, and may it be a day marked by His love
“But to you who hear, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” Luke 6:27-28.
Our Prayer
Holy and Exalted are You, O Heavenly Father.
We hasten to the Throne of Your Grace, presenting today our enemies, all those who have done us harm and cursed us (remember that “to curse” means to speak evil).
For these too, You died, beloved Lord Jesus.
We present them to You so that You may send them Your angels, Your ministers, Your witnesses, so that You may speak to them.
We pray for them that our prayer may open a glimmer of hope in their hearts, and You may transform these hearts of stone into hearts of flesh, ready for change, and Your presence.
LORD, we too were reluctant to give You our hearts, but Your Love has conquered us, so let us pray that the same may happen to them.
Enlarge our hearts with a love that always leads us to advance in Your ways and to cover the sins of others, like Shem and Japheth with their father Noah.
Father, help us understand that if You reveal the nakedness of soul of others, it is simply because You want us to cover it with prayer.
Let judgment be banished from among Your children, but let sin be denounced by love.
It is love that will remain, and it is love that makes us like Jesus.
We Plead Your Blood
Father, for our enemies today, we plead the Blood of Jesus, which will bring forgiveness: save them, reclaim them, and restore their souls.
Cut from our hearts today all resentment and hatred toward those who are our detractors and accusers.
May the Christ who lives in us love them, and so fill our hearts to do the same.
