When Tragedy Strikes!

Several days ago, on July 4, tragedy struck in the hill country of Texas.
Ken and I had a real interest in this because many years ago, at different times, we both have lived in the area and also we both know something about the devastation that comes with floods and debris, not to mention the loss of lives and property.
This is just one example of a tragedy. The loss of a loved one, a sudden divorce, the loss of a job, a sudden illness, and the list goes on….
If you happen to be in midst of great trouble, what steps could you take to start forward from where you are? What do I do now, you might ask?
Let’s look at the Word of God for encouragement and help.
“Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10 KJV.
Now is the best time to be still before The LORD.
The temptation is to start thinking on our own about what you are going to do, you may even be in an emotional state or panic.
Quiet yourself, sit before The LORD and be still. Quiet your heart, and let The LORD comfort you and bring peace.
The second part of this verse is “and know that I AM God.”
Take sufficient time to reflect on His Greatness and Mighty Power.
Let these thoughts begin to diminish everything else but Him.
The Word says He will keep us in perfect peace as we keep our mind focused on Him.
Remember also, He will never leave you or forsake you. He already knows about what has happened to you and what comes next.
He is with you all the way through this, and He is faithful.
“As for me, I will call upon God; and The LORD shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” Psalm 55:16-17 KJV.
Pray! Pour out your heart to God! He loves you and wants to help you in your time of need.
He will hear what you need to tell Him.
Don’t back away from Him but step into Him and His purpose.
He is waiting for you to come to Him so He can show His love and care for you.
Cast all your cares upon Him, let Him save you!
“The Spirit of The LORD God is upon me; because The LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound,” Isaiah 61:1 KJV.
:The Spirit of The LORD is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” Luke 4:18 KJV.
Jesus is anointed to “preach, good tidings.”
He wants to share good words with you right now to bring faith and hope. Listen closely and be encouraged.
He wants to bind up your broken heart from the hurt and pain you are enduring, and He wants to set you free from this trouble, deliver you and set you in a broad place so you can stand, a place free from the prison you may find yourself in.
“So shall they fear the name of The LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of The LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19 KJV.
As you put your trust in The LORD, He will put the enemy to flight and deliver you, you will come through this because The LORD is on your side.
No matter what comes your way, God is for you!
He loves you……………….. Trust Him Today!
God Bless You, you are in my prayers

Amen.
Thank you for your post today. I speak Psalm 46:10 when there are storms in our area and the Holy Spirit led me to speak it over Texas. That Scripture comes before me a lot lately and our Lord knows I have trouble becoming still in His Presence, but when I read what you wrote about not backing away from Him, but lean into Him, was our Lord speaking so I leaned into Him. In those moments I knew He was saying that you don’t have to wait for a disaster or impending danger to speak those words. Speak them over every situation that troubles you no matter what it is and speak them in your prayers for others and He will bring His Peace.
Thank you and God Bless you ❤️
