You Are My God
A psalm to praise and sing to God, out loud.
You Are My God!
You are my God, I thank Thee
You have Your Eye fixed on me
As I have my heart fixed on You
You deliver me from all my enemies—
Those workers of iniquity
Who have no knowledge of You,
Nor do they fear You
They try to bring me down
They try to destroy me completely
But You are my God who will vindicate me, I know
You are my God!
I will praise You forever
Because You have done it;
You are my God!
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your Name,
For it is good.
You will put them to shame
You will uproot them from the land of the living
You will scatter their bones
You will bring them to nothing
They will not even be remembered
But to me You will bring salvation
And great praise comes from my lips
And great gladness swells in my heart
You, my LORD have heard me
And have delivered me from the hands of my enemies!
You are my God!
I will praise You forever
Because You have done it;
You are my God!
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your Name,
For it is good
I make You my strength
For I am like a green olive tree
In the House of God
Your Oil runs down my head, my cup overflows
Oh that Horn of Salvation is with me!
I trust in Your Mercy forever and ever!
You are my God!
I will praise You forever
Because You have done it;
You are my God!
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your Name,
For it is good
Good for my soul
Good for my life
Good in every way!
You are my God, I thank Thee
You are my God!
I will wait on Your Name,
For it is good
You are my God!
I will praise You forever
Because You have done it;
You are my God!
And in the presence of Your saints
I will wait on Your Name,
For it is good
“When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Psalm 34:17.
“The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” Psalm 9:9.
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.” Psalm 18:2.
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” Psalm 23:5.
“Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, Like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good. Lying rather than speaking righteousness. Selah You love all devouring words, You deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy you forever;He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place,And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, “Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.” Psalm 52:1-9.
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and have done abominable iniquity; There is none who does good. God looks down from heaven upon the children of men, To see if there are any who understand, who seek God. Every one of them has turned aside; They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one. Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, Who eat up my people as they eat bread, And do not call upon God? There they are in great fear Where no fear was, For God has scattered the bones of him who encamps against you; You have put them to shame, Because God has despised them. Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When God brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.” Psalm 53:1-6.
