The Power of The LORD’s Voice
A psalm to praise and sing to God, aloud.
The Power of The LORD’s Voice
Imagine the Voice of The LORD—
Its power and majesty
Its holiness and beauty
Its gentleness and mercy
Its patience and longsuffering
Who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
The Voice of The LORD is over the waters;
The God of Glory thunders;
The LORD is over many waters.
The Voice of The LORD is powerful;
The Voice of The LORD is full of majesty.
Who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Ohhhh, who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Such power and majesty
Who could ever imagine its awesomeness?
Such holiness and beauty
Who could ever imagine it perfectly?
Such gentleness and mercy
Who could ever imagine it fully?
Such patience and long suffering
Who could ever imagine it’s unconditional love?
Who can really, truly understand the power of The LORD’s Voice?
Who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Ohhhh, who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Without trembling?
Sometimes He thunders loud and clear through the storming clouds
Sometimes He speaks in the wind blowing through the trees
Sometimes He whispers beside the meandering streams
Sometimes He makes Himself heard in the utmost silence—
With a still, small voice…
Who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Ohhhh, who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Without trembling?
His Voice cuts down enemies
Melts mountains and shatters trees
Opens fountains deep within the earth
And calls forth things into being
Such power and majesty
Such holiness and beauty
Such gentleness and mercy
Such patience and long suffering
Who can really, truly understand the power of The LORD’s Voice?
Who can stand in His Presence without trembling?
Without trembling?
Ohhhh, who can really, truly understand the power of The LORD’s Voice—
Over the waters deep, hovering—
Speaking: “Let there be…”
